Do what your doctor recommends, but I would stay at 75mg for at least 7 days, then cut back to 37.5mg for another 7 days, then stop and see what happens. Are you adding in another anti-depressant as you withdraw from the effexor? Most people need to try another AD when the side effects of one are intolerable.

Good luck,
Carly

Ps. I don't know why they don't give better warnings about effexor.

> I was at 225 mg of effexor and really awful on it so dr cut me to 150 and I had major withdrawal--lightheaded, nausea, panic attack feelings, could hardly get out of bed. Now I am at 75mg and I want to get off this med. Since I went through the withdrawal from 225 to 150, will I go through withdrawal if I just stop the 75mg? I have been on 75mg for about 4 days. Why do they say xanax is so bad and never tell you about the horrible effects of this effexor??
