John,
Trazodone is antidepresant. It works on the brain chemical beside making people sleep. I have trazodone but afraid to take it and have never taken it since there are many people suffured from withdrawal syndromes. I still keep it since I respect my Dr. as well as your opinion. Beside I still think it might be a good med in case I actually really need it especially I don't know it works or not.I do not know my condition well. I feel like the diagnostic method is not an exact science. I do not like the idea of guessing the disease and curing by trial and error. Sort of like looking the face and be able tell the disease 90% sure or listening to the pulse and tell exactly what the disease is. There was no proof, no test, no nothing to diagnose more accurately. The side effects of the med get in until it is too late to regret as in my case. This is the reason why I am so fearful of these meds that affect the dopamine/serotonin. I don't mean to complain here but this is how I feel and it really irritated my Dr. Indeed, my Dr. has thrown me out for second opinion. I am now docless. I don't think my last Dr. care much any way.
I guess my problem now is fear but I still really want to know more about the sure and safe cure.
Thank you very much.
