I have been on Effexor XR apx. 2 months. I'm now at 225 mgs. Side effects in the beginning were constipation, felt unsociable while at the very lowest dosage, dry mouth. As I have raised dosage, I now have hot flashes and night sweats. This is my only side effect. I am willing to tolerate this because of the wonderful effect it has had on my depression. The only side-effect I liked is it caused me to lose weight (this is now disappearing, darn!) Actually, my depression was lifted in apx. nine days after starting my first dose.
