I am currently in my 7th. week of Effexor. I,too, was scared witless when I researched this med. It took me a while to even find some positive experiences of people who used this. I think tobycat is right that people are more inclined to tell about terrible experiences than positive. I seem to be doing well so far. I had some very mild nausea the first day at 37.5mg and some noticable jaw clenching. My dreams are more vivid, and frankly, quite entertaining! I am at 75mg.currently but I may increase my dose (I see my doctor today) so we'll see what happens. I think anyone considering this med should most definitely consider ALL the information and discuss it thoroughly with their doctor and decide what they are most comfortable with. Just keep in mind that this is a good med. for some people and not for all by any means. This is true of any medication.
