I was put on Effexor XR, because I no longer felt that Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft or Celexa helped like it used to. I have been using SSRI's for 13+ years. For more than a year, I merely existed. It is truly incredible to have a drug work well with my body chemistry. I have tried many drugs for depression, Effexor XR is truly different. If you decide to try Effexor, ask for XR and try and not let the side effects that you read on here scare you off. Everyone's body chemistry is different. I really wanted to shake the depression that I had been in for more than a year. My depression would come and go before but the last year, the depression never let up. I now have motivation, I had forgot how to live.
