. . .Just pulled out of a major depression. . . Unbeknownst to me (who didn't get her lab work done) my estrogen level had slipped to half the normal level over the past 6 months. I gradually slid down and down, despite same mix of Effexor & Dexedrine in a.m.; Neurontin, Zyprexa and Valium at bed that had been working so well Am now pulled out of it, after 2 weeks of raising estradiol dose (with a little help chipping at codeine.) But be warned!
Major study just published on Medscape advising docs to use estrogen FIRST for Depression in *any* woman who might be even perimenopausal. Never would have believed it, til it happened to me. . .but it's that profound.
