Sometimes they do work where ssri's don't. Sure I agree if the person has never been to a psychiatrist before. But I can't really criticize someone who wants strong medicine for depression. And I think there is a very fine line between being high and feeling well.
I for one would like to have a constant and strong serotonergic high, and I am not ashamed of myself for thinking that.
I am getting fed up with ssri's even though I have only tried two, paxil and zoloft. If zoloft doesn't work, I will go through the routine, trying all of the ssri's, then the other classes. I hope something does work. But if not, I'll just end up taking GHB a few times each day to medicate my depression. It works.
