Michael,

I haven't compiled a piece on Mirapex yet. Though I very may well when more responses come in. I am collecting all responses and the clinical trial info.

One should try to reach a dosage of approximately 5mg./day. This is divided into 3 doses a day. Start at 1/4 mg. per dose and titrate up slowly to minimize the nausea (which is normally transient).

Domperidone (from Farmacia Cerati) or Ondansetron (available here and overseas), both may be effective for nausea.

Risperdal of course is another antipsychotic with similarities and differnces in action to other antipsychotics like zyprexa, amisulpride and seroquel.

Given you iffy response to antipsychotics, Mirapex seems like a logical choice to trial next. Though an eventual trial with risperdal may be a pleasent surprise.

There is the possibility in my mind that many poor responders to amisulpride will be good responders to Mirapex. But only peoples’ responses will verify if this idea holds merit.

My impression is Mirapes doesn’t take a week to ‘kick in’ but, rather, it takes a week (or so) to get up to the effective dosage.

I don't know if the dosage of Mirapex is effected by combination with wellbutrin. Perhaps others have ideas on this but my impression is that as an add-on the Mirapex dosage is the same as if it were used as a stand-alone.

My email address is still andrewb@seanet.com. Sorry for not promptly responding to your recent email.
