Didn't work at all for me & I took it alone.

> - Why did you choose trimipramine?

My GP chose it after Paxil/Prozac poop-out principally because a) I hadn't tried a tricyclic & b) I have chronic insomnia & I guess he thought it'd help (it did a little).

> - Is it sedating?

YES. Best taken @ bedtime for a good night's sleep. Can be hard to wake up on higher doses tho' I don't remember feeling too sedated during the day.

> - What side effects have you experienced?

Perhaps a little increase in agitation/depersonalisation but not a great deal else.

> - Would you recommend trimipramine?

Well like every other AD it didn't work 4 me but I certainly wouldn't dissuade you from trying. If insomnia is an issue then it could be a logical choice.
