> What is the desired effect of Klonopin? DH's doc started him on 1m twice a day and increasing gradually to 3m twice a day. Also Celexa 60mg a day. What experiences has anyone had? Some of my reading suggest a disinhibitation may occur. If he was once prone to violent outburst will this cause it to return? Thanks in advance,

I've been on 2mg 3 times a day for about a year. Im my case, it was prescribed for overwhelming anxiety. I *think* it may be used for seizure disorders as well. My experience with it is very positive: a lot of the shyness, or panic, I used to feel dealing with bosses, strangers, coworkers, etc. is gone now. I'd like to know more about what you mean by "disinhibition." I've found that taking it did make me less inhibited, but in basicaly a good way - the only bad part is blurting out the truth in situations where you're not supposed too. Also, my sense of humor has gotten more surreal, but people who know me always knew I was kinda weird.

Down sides? Maybe a couple:
1. My memory is like swiss cheeze. But since I'm taking Temazapam, Serzone, Welbutrin, and Neurontin, it's hard to say what's causing what. However, I only forget the stuff I didn't really pay attention to at the time - it's only a problem because that includes all of my working world, and (yeah, I deserve to get flamed on this next one) almost everything my wife tells me.

I did have one violent outburst, but I was into weight lifting at the time, and taking over the counter ephedra/caffeine pills - I think they had the most to do with it.

One good thing: its addiction potential is supposedly very low. As I used opium/painkillers for many years, and haven't started exceeding the prescribed dose of Klonipin, I think there may be some truth to that....

Hope it help,
FP
