REMERON
Has anyone found Remeron helpful for anything other than getting sleep? Has anyone found it of use for re-current clinical depression or complex mood disorders? If so, I would really, really like to hear from you.
I have been on Remeron (30mg) for a year now, and although whilst on it I have been getting the best sleep of my life (and sleeping has always been a huge problem for me), my depression and mood disorder continue to debilitate my life each and every day. Does anyone think a higher dose might do the trick?
ANAFRANIL
Has anyone had a positive experience of this drug that they would share?
I was on Anafranil for about four years in my early twenties (250mg). I came off it largely because my state of mind had improved considerably. However, I also felt as though the daytime sedation I experienced (which was pretty bad) would make it difficult for me to hold down a job after I graduated university - it certainly made studying for my degree pretty difficult. Anafranil did help me to sleep, though not in the same league as Remeron (I don't think) and I've not experienced day-time sedation on Remeron. The problem with Remeron (as mentioned above), is that it has not been effective in treating my depression or mood disorder. This being the case, I have been thinking about either switching back to Anafranil or augmenting the Remeron with a low dose of Anafranil?
I would be grateful to hear from anyone with an experience of Anafranil they would be willing to share or anyone who has any suggestions for me.
Yours, Caroline
