hello, i have been taking zoloft for the past two years.
I started with 50 mlg and slowly found myself having to increase my dosage
i am finally up to 175 and i seem to have built a
resistance so.....after a rough two months I
weened myself down to none and started celexa.
They (the dr.'s) say that you must give a med time
before you know if it will work.....I stayed on the celexa for 3 days
and found myself feeling worse so i just took myself off and went back
to the zoloft. Not long after did I find that it just wasn't working.
Crying, anxiety, confusion and obsessive thoughts and actions.....
Could it really be the medication no longer working? Feeling out of control
I found a new shrink and she perscribed the zoloft/
wellbutrin. it's day 3 and I do notice a less depression in fact this afternoon
I felt like a cloud had shifted. But as hours passed I suddenly
felt paranoid, and i swear i thought i saw yellow
spots. It felt like the one and only time i took dexatrim or no-doze. I was very uncomfortable
and felt like nervous, spacey and worried. This is alot of information, i know but
i'm very dissapointed and scared. When i took zoloft for the first time I felt an immediate
o.k.ness come over me. I had all the side effects but mentally i was o.k. and loved it.
Does anyone find that you can tell whether a drug will work in the first week?
When something doesn't agree with me it is brutal
and I believe that it isn't for me. Is this sensible?
Has anyone tried Paxil? also, the weight issue- I am a compulsive eater/dieter...obsessed.
i would be happy to just live one day without thinking about my eating patterns. Is the weight that you all speak
of from an increased appetite? Is it scientifically proven?
I need calmness and confidence, it's buried somewhere beneath
an insecure, obsessive, selfconscience, anti-social
Anyone tried Paxil? I couldn't handle gaining weight.
I would come apart even more.... i have already gained 10 lbs in the last 2 months
of trial& error with the meds. just frustration eating. If you have read this far I appreciate it.
I am falling asleep as i write but I fear waking up
tomorrow to despair.

> Hi,
> I have been on Zoloft for 71/2 years and it has saved my life. My depression and anxiety was extremely severe. I tried Imipramine which helped the depression to a point but not the anxiety attacks. A couple years later after suffering another severe bout of depression my Dr put me on Zoloft which has taken away my depression and anxiety but I've gained about 45 lbs. The cravings have gotten worse over the years so now my Dr wants me to try Wellbutrin because of its weight loss effects on most people. He said I can continue to take 150 mgs of Zoloft because I was so nervous about going off it for fear I'd have another bout of depression. I'll be starting Wellbutrin (150 mgs) tomorrow.

Now I've been diagnosed with ADD (not ADHD) and the Dr. is trying me on Wellbutrin. He says to combine the 2 drugs for now and we can lower or eliminate the Zoloft later. The depression was so difficult that I had do something to get a handle on things but the possible side effects of another drug have me kind of nervous. Although what I've read about it being an appetite suppressant is a pretty good bonus. Does anybody have experience re depression + ADD treated by either Wellbutrin or Zoloft or both that they can share? Thanks, Laney
