I have found a book called "the Artists Way" to be useful in my attempts to develop the courage to call myself an artist as well as to learn some techniques to help overcome the inertia of depression. The author has set up various exercises to help people find the creativity that we all have, and to form good work habits. I also found the only believable affirmations ( for me). A valuable bonus!
