No, not really. Just because they effect the same neuro transmitters they are still very different chems. I don't think the side effects of Effexor have anything to do with nor-e, but are unique to effexor. Same thing with the SSRI's, but not including the weight and sex issues, is that one may have a side effect that the others don't.

Other possibilities for the W/D from Effexor are a dose or 2 of Prozac or some Atavin...check with your doc if what the sugested did not work.
