I agree with what's been said - a benzodiazepine or Neurontin seems like the thing to try. Also consider a change of diagnosis.

Other antidepressants, like Effexor and Serzone, may work as well. Buspar is something to try too, but be willing to go pretty high (e.g., up to 90mg) on the dose. If your doctor will go for it and you can tolerate the side effects, an opioid such as buprenorphine could work very well.

Group cognitive-behavioral therapy has been said to help with social phobia. I don't know enough to comment on it, but I just thought I'd pass it on.
