> What experience have you had with changing dosages of SSRIs? It has taken the usual 4-6 weeks for one to take effect at the beginning. But how quickly can dose changes take effect after that? I recently increased trazadone from 50mg to 100 mg (on doc's advice). Side effects kicked in right away (heavy night sweats, which I also had with Zoloft), so after about a week, I cut back again. But I now think that there was a "time-delay" effect on my mood--a significant improvement that began about 5 days after I increased the dose and lasted about 5 days after I cut back (then I crashed). Since my moods can be changeable anyway, it's hard for me to be sure if the improvement was the meds. So, I was wondering what other people had experienced when changing dosages? thanks!

James here.....

For me when I changed from TCA to TCA the new med kicked in w/i a week. With the newer AD's (all being different chemicals) it took several weeks to get the full effect. As the old med cleared out of my system for ~ 2 weeks I did benifit from
still being on the old med.
