I'm so anti-social, you shouldn't read this.

Posted by verne on May 4, 2009, at 3:26:17

Let me explain: phone calls, emails, and even winks are painful for me. I'm in constant emotional pain. I love seeing my granddaughter, set my house up for her, sober six months. But now it's gone to h*ll. Usual mother "gatekeeping" and sheer hate from the son-in-law.

Gave up, started drinking, was told it was "all my fault", that I had "brought it on myself". That hurt. I hadn't done anything but annoy my son-in-law and it turned into this. I went through the same negative propaganda with my ex-wife and it destroyed me. Eventually I even got custody of my daugther - but guess what, after the lawyers and our friendly judicial system I WAS DESTROYED.

So DeJaVu all over again. I'm so done with this. I'm young enough that maybe I can escape to some lake front cabin - and of course the spiritual thing which requires complete rebirth.

I don't want to wake up, why should I?

I'm normal weight, good looking, strong, even "strappingly", little old, vain, and it goes down hill from there. My use of "strappingly" should have been a clue.

Please Ignore the Strapping Bit

Ugh, strapping? I don't think I've even used that word for 30 years or longer - maybe never. Unless I'm talking molasses.

Sorry about the strapping bit. Little too much Fargo, eyh?

And, I especially apolgize for the vain personal ad that followed my last post. I'm not looking for a date. Hating my life is a full time job - wouldn't have time for it.

I probably misspelt (misspelt and strapping) anyway. I can't spell.

i'm a washout

What a great subject line, Verne. Of course I was going to read your post. You dared me to.

When you get done bashing yourself, perhaps you can take the time to see how people here have responded to you with a genuine liking of you. Yours is but one story of someone struggling through life. I can't truly know how hard things are for you, but I can certainly appreciate the intensity of your words.

Picking up again is not really a failure. It is more of a bump in the road. You don't have to start all over again. You have already done the work to bring you this far. You are a changed person. When you are ready... Until then, you have my support despite those behaviors you consider to be antisocial. You really are nothing of the kind, though.

Smile.

:-)

You could be the slightly dangerous but amusing character who lives in the lakeside cabin and can be seen fishing and reading in the afternoons wearing a straw hat.

I think I've worn out my role as the village character both in real life and on Babble. Even a huge ego like mine gets weary.

The lake is a couple years away. I got sidetracked with family - won't let that happen again.

Please ignore my initial post. More drunken fantasy than anything.

I'm taking my marbles - what I can find of them - and retiring from the field.

jai,

when you move, you said it's like a sack of beavers? (I'm sure I'm paraphrasing badly - please correct me) Always liked your poetry.

You don't "love" me and we don't even know each other.

As I said on the admin thread, you didn't reply to an email when I responded to you. So I can't figure out where this "love" is coming from.

I've come to my senses. Gotta leave this site for my emotional health.

I have had to do this twice. It was in my best interests to take a PB break for about 1 1/2 years. I am glad that I did.

If you are inclined to return one day, I think you will be warmly welcomed. It just seems to be the way of things here. I really don't "know" you, but it seems that you have been honest and made yourself vulnerable here. People really appreciate that. It fuels growth.

I wish you luck in your present and future endeavors.

Take care.

Thanks for the kind words Scott.

I haven't quite left and up and reneged on my part, yet your farewell message was so kind-hearted, so compassionate, I feel like I need to stay away just to honor it.

I'm barely making it and your words made a true difference. So, perhaps, there's something real to cyber life, afterall. Thanks.

I'm just a weevil.
