Maybe this isn't for me or is off the subject, but I envision this person, alone, standing on the cliff of a mountain over a sprawling city, seeing lights come on as the sun is setting, and he ask himself, "What's it all about?", and, he hears this loud voice, seemingly coming out of nowhere, saying, "You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself about (or is it around?). That's what it's all about."

ROFL.

That's why gotta print T.

I had a few realizations today

In reply to Re: I woke up sad » corafree, posted by TexasChic on November 9, 2006, at 19:38:08

I guess I finally got past being SO upset at my so-called-friend that I was able to admit some things to myself. Part of why what he said hurt so bad is because alot of it was true. I WAS being obsessive and immature in my writings to him. But I told him a long time ago I have a tendency to do this when I write. He always said it was fine, write as much as I want, vent away. Maybe I went too far, but I know I always made a point to ask about what was going on in his life, and even gave him advice when his marriage was rocky. So I just don’t know.

A friend suggested that I may have just caught him at a bad time, and when I went to his myspace page last night I saw he had posted on that very day that things weren’t going so hot and he was really depressed and stressed out. But still, I don’t think the mean things he said to me were okay under any circumstances. And I know even if he apologized, I would never be able to trust him again because he obviously wasn’t telling the truth when he said he was fine with me venting to him.

But all that aside, it was good to be able to finally get some of these feelings straight in my head. One of those feelings was embarrassment that I actually HAD been obsessive and immature, but I wasn’t identifying it as that. I was just feeling ‘bad’. Once I realized what it was, I was like, “okay, I can live with that”.

Another realization

This one is about cuteboy. His girlfriend looks like a freaking model. I'm talking perfect. So another realization is that I probably never really had a chance. Although, I still stand by my conviction that at the beginning there was some mutual flirting going on. Either I just took it too seriously, or he was interested and then met that girl at later date and liked her more. I'll never know and it really doesn't matter. All I do know is this all motivates me even more to try to get in shape, so if I ever see any of those people, I can laugh and tell them to kiss my shapely *ss.

TC,

I might be mistaken, but don't both of those people cuteboy and "friend" work for that not so great company you used to work for? And look at YOU now. You are doing great with a wonderful new job and a much better company. Who's the real winner here?

No, you're right, and everyone who works at that place thinks its a dump. I think that's why my supervisor said he admired me, because instead of sitting around and complaining like the rest of them, I did something to make things better. I actually liked the place until the people turned all evil, but I knew it was a dead end job from the beginning. Actually, every job until this one was pretty much a dead end job. That's what makes this one so cool.

And yeah, I know I'm moving on to bigger and better. I'm already feeling better about the whole thing. I just get so-o-o-o upset about a situation that I think my head will explode, then eventually I calm down. But that realization doesn't change the extent of the initial feelings.

I guess I'm just going to have to realize that some people can handle my highly emotional/sensitive nature (and maybe even appreciate it) and some can't. And I'm not going to beat myself up anymore just because someone doesn't approve of it.

Thanks! Sometimes I think I'm too introspective for my own good. But for some reason that's the only thing that get's me past these situations. That's why I like this place, I can reason it out in writing AND get some input.

Aww, thanks. I wonder sometimes what people think of me here with all my emphatic babbling.

Actually that's one of the things I'm working on. Getting out and about that is, not getting younger (although if I could...). I'm 36 BTW.

That's actually one of the few I know and use. I had to ask someone here what 'SO' was (its signifigant other).

Oh, and I finally just looked up what ROTFL was. Its what people write after you've written something funny (rolling on the floor laughing).

You know, Spriggy is someone I've never got to know very well, does she still post?

You can look up the meaning just by typing something like ROTFL in a search engine (like www.google.com or www.yahoo.com). You can look up anything just by trying different phrases in a search engine. Like you might type 'ROTFL' or 'ROTFL meaning' or 'internet acronyms'.

Just in case someone was wondering.
