Yo, Happy (LOL) you are right! We shouldnt have snow until Christmas eve.......Then a few days more; some beautiful blizzard, with sparkles of sunlight, etc....then a few days more...Spring!

Actually, if was Fall someplace all year round, that is where I would be!

Born in Heaven (Maine), now living in exile in the flatlands of Michigan!

Gee, i hope I've offended some Midwesterners, just kiddn', just kiddin, just kiddin, I mean, hope I haven't.......I can NEVER resist teasing (in a gentle manner, of course!) However! Maine's motto: The Way Life Should Be is gospel!!

There's even a website for us exiled. www.exiles.com; it's a hoot, even if you aren't from Maine.

Grins, Ally

We finally got our first cold front. It's down to the high sixties daytime, forties at night.

Last week it was in the eighties. In a few days it will be back up to somewhere in the seventies.

We only get snow about every 10-15 years and it rarely sticks for more than a few hours.

Send the snow down here, please?

Today my students were working on a portfolio involving transformations and symmetry. I was teaching them how to fold paper and cut in orger to make a snowflake. They were clueless in regards to snowflakes. It has not snowed to where the snow stuck to the ground in over 17 years. I am going to Tennesse next week. I hope that I get to see snow.

nope... just rain up here near Seattle!

It rains from about October until late May.

Then we see that big, bright yellow light in the sky that the rest of you call "sun."

I swear the sun does not exist up here.

It gets dark, gloomy, rainy, dreary for months and months.. then you wonder why you are depressed. ROFL

Lord, help me.

I'm actually reasonably fond of snow, and welcomed its appearance a few days ago. Although that might just be all the rain storms we've been hit with lately; at least snow doesn't require you to become Mary Poppins for a half hour every day. Let's just say that I've grown to appreciate the investment involved in buying a somewhat expensive umbrella.

Seeing the sun would be nice, though. It's so depressing to head out before sunrise, be indoors all day and then to be in a classroom with windows for the final class as the sun starts setting at a little past four.

I do believe this is why I have a lightbox.

It ought to be illegal for snowflakes to fall within 10 metres of a roadway, or driveway/parking lot. Sidewalks with a 1 metre clearance. Then it can snow without limits. Damn illegal snowflakes are the problem ones.

My car is white with snow. The roads are slush. Ever tried shovelling with one arm? Bah-humbug!

Auntie Mel, do you have a guest room?

I absolutely love Charlotte NC. Since we've moved here from the beach. The wind is gone, sun shines daily and not rain except for a shower. It is getting cold at night but the sun makes up for it during the day. With hills and trees and so much shopping and the Mountains only two hours away. Fondly, Phillipa

Safe trip to TN!!! Much love for you
Oh yeah, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY LYNN!!!!!!
Idea for class: take pictures of your child in snow if any while in TN. Bring back to class for them to see. Or, look on internet for pictures of snowflakes, or download (streaming video) with snow (flakes)... just a suggestion!!!
love ya

I'm right there with AuntieMel, except she's further south and actually a little warmer. But the temperatures here have been about the same. Coldfront! What a laugh. I've worn my coat twice now. And I always forget it in the car after work (by then you don't need it anymore). I'm still using my air conditioning (in the car and home). One of the things they say about Texas is, its the only place where you will use your heater and air conditioner on the same day. That's pretty much the norm for fall.

P.S. I want some snow. :-(
Its been years since I've seen it!

With the kiddos gone, it's just 2 of us in a 4 bedroom house. Come on down!

That sounds seriously tempting. Significantly so. Thanks for entertaining the thought.

I prefer entertaining people more than thoughts.
