Yup. I have turned into a bit of a lurker I'm afraid. My Babble posting average has gone down ;-)
I'm sure I will get back into it.

>As gg said, drink your fluids, hot tea, rest...maybe some good magazines (or better yet, a book on dog behavior so you can let me know what is wrong with my leg lifting dog).

Hmm. I dunno what is up with your dog. Except that it might be him trying to assert his dominance... There must be doggie boards on line. Maybe someone from one of those chat forums might have a better idea?

I have to read Descartes at the mo.
And learn about rhetorical fallacies.
Don't mind Descartes so it isn't too bad.
5 weeks (incl this one) to go.
Then I really am going to crash for a while.

> I've heard that you get sick easier when you are depressed. Wonder if that works the same 'after' you've been depressed as you were?

Yeah. I wonder if I am still fairly depressed, actually... Or maybe it is just cause I'm sick..

> is it really starting winter in nz?

Absolutely.
Are you guys into summer yet, or is it still spring?
June / July is winter here.
But it is getting fairly cold here.
I'm tempted to say it is freezing.
But you guys might just call me on that.
We don't get cold enough for snow :-)

YEah. Probably...

>So you're on them aren't you?

Getting there, getting there... I'll try to get to the Dr this avo or some time tomorrow.

>Gardener girl has painted such a lovely picture of taking care of you, I'd like to be there taking care of you too,

That sounds good.
:-)

Yup.

Ok. I'll get onto that - I promise.

Um. How do your tear ducts scar closed? Can you still cry???

Hmm. I found it funnier when it was winter for you guys and summer for me ;-)

> You are a pretty smart woman, I am sure you will be able to work something out regarding your therapy. But sometimes, too much smartness is actually hindering your emotional health - as I am coming to realize. Maybe you should allow yourself to be less smart, and more emotional and hang out more with friends. You are doing your ph.d right? Did I remember that right? I think that kind of probably makes you more inwards, rather than outwards..

MA. Or MPhil if I ever get around to changing it... Um. What friends? Heh heh. I always have been more 'inward rather than outward'. Typical philosopher really...

Nurse Puppy MacDog asked if there was anything she could do. She knows how to put her paw on your forehead and take your temperature and she's better than any hot water bottle and gives big snuggly hugs.

Sorry not well kiddo wish I could whip you up a big bowl of pumpkin soup or something. Sounds like Vapour Rub time to me. You take care okay. Me and puppy send lots of love.

Ugh. Being sick is bound to make you feel more depressed. I hope it passes quickly for you.

Do you dislike winter? We have rather nice winters here, and I think it's my second favorite season next to Autumn. The bare branches of trees outlined against the drizzly grey skies. Bleak and somehow satisfying to my soul.

Summer is rapidly approaching here, and I find that familiar summer lethargy coming with it. I wish I could come live in your part of the world half the year. Follow cool weather around.

Do you have a nice comfy blankie or comforter? I looove cuddling under a blankie with a box of tissues at my side watching some mindless drivel on TV. It's almost enough to make being sick worthwhile. Except for having to work anyway.

The nasolacrimal ducts are the ones scarred from infection. I create tears, the tears just have nowhere to go but down my face.

And the infection that caused the scarring was one of those things people get in the winter, you know, a sore throat turning into a nasal thing that won't go away, then you find out everyone else has it too and you think, oh I'll get over it, but you don't, it goes on for weeks, and then you find out later that you're permanently damaged. So just be careful, okay? Get yourself to a doctor.

Hmm. I'm not particularly fond of winter. No. I like summer. I like to look at it out the window :-)

> Summer is rapidly approaching here, and I find that familiar summer lethargy coming with it. I wish I could come live in your part of the world half the year. Follow cool weather around.

Done! I'll just have to buy my self a house and we can play swapsies. You can follow the winter around and I'll get summer, ok? Seriously though I would LOVE that. Some lucky people get to do this by working half the year in Aussie and half the year in the US. I'd love to do that.

> Do you have a nice comfy blankie or comforter?

Even better... We have central heating! Okay. That probably isn't going to sound too special but seeing as we don't go below zero we typically don't have double glazed windows or central heating and it is sort of a NZ thing to put more clothes on if you are cold. Even in houses.

And it is a foggy damp cold here because of the river. Also the point that this used to be swamp land until we drained the swamp into the lake (which may be why it isn't the cleanest of lakes). So, lots of fog...

But living on campus they need to have habitable accomodation for the international students and so that means central heating :-)

So we throw the windows open and turn the heaters up (power being included in our rent and all)
:-)

So it isn't that bad really...
Just the walk to the office and back...
Oh. And cigarettes. Have to venture outside for cigarettes. That probably doen't sound too bad until you factor in that I smoke about 30 a day.

Jeepers. We don't get that hot either.

I think it varies between maybe 15 or 16 degrees during the day in winter (but there is the celcius farenheit thingie going on) to about 27-34 during the day in summer. No hotter. No colder.

But it snows on the mountains and down the south island.

That's okay you're allowed to be partial to chicken soup. Me, I will only eat tomatoe soup and only one breand of that. But I'm not fussy or anything.

Mmm. Chicken.
:-)
I don't think I could stomach red meat anymore.
Blood.
Yuk.
But I did start thinking about chicken a great deal after being vegetarian for a while.
I do love chicken..

Aw.
But you would make pumpkin for me :-)
What brand???
I'm not sure about tomato soup... It's not too bad with lots of pepper...

> Hope you're feeling a little better today.

I think it is going to be one of those horrible late at night and early morning but all but vanishing during the day kind of bugs.

I am thinking about going to the Doc though after what Susan said.

Another problem is that most people seem to have it at the moment.

ROTFL, just imagining Homer doing his thesis.

I remember being out with a mate once who when he cut into his steak looked at the waiter and said: "Mate I'm a vet and I could nearly bring this one back." Funny, didn't feel like my dinner at all after that.

BBQ Chicken pizza with fresh basil, anchovies and boccochinni (that's gotta be wrong) cheese. M-Mmmmm =0)

Yeah and cheesecake to follow, as a treat.

Heinz, was PMU (Pick Me Up) but that brand disappeared years ago.

Ah that kind, they suck :-(
>

Yeah that was kinda scary ey?

That's always a problem same happens in the office here, everyone gets it eventually.

One of each?????

I just LOVE cheesecake!

Probably mango.
I think we do grow mangos in NZ but not all that many of them.
The imported ones are irradiated.
