Got a job...Summertime Blues...ain't no cure!!.

Posted by jay on May 31, 2004, at 20:14:24

Well, I've been driving around town today, cranking the song 'Summertime Blues' blasting on the new Surround-Sound, pumping, concert-like new sound system in the car. My biggest quest has been how to balance my Big-Gulp on the steering wheel. Challenges...heh.

Oh ya, and I got a new job as a rehab social worker with brain injured clients. This is both great and scarry too, as it would be for any social phobic like moi. Well, I will be taking lots of clonazepam for awhile...yummm. I am not trying to brag, but I am pretty darn good at my field of work, and that puts my shorts in a knot because it conflicts with my pain doing the 'social' of my 'social work' job. So, I am great at teaching people how to live a socially splendid life, yet I dare practise what I preach. Just wonderful, yeah? Well, back into my hole I crawl.

"Ain't no cure for the summertime blues..."

<sigh> Jay </sigh>

Congratulations Jay. Don't they say the best way to learn something is to teach it to others?

And be careful with those Big Gulps. Makes me nervous just hearing about it. Cups should be smaller I say, or cupholders should be larger.

did you say something about a knot in your shorts jay? or did i misread? i've been known to do that.

as for the big gulp, that's too much liquid for any person to drink in a single sitting, especially in a car. and to think, you'd have to use a public restroom too! go thirsty instead, and your problem is solved.

it's wonderful to see your name on my screen jay. don't crawl back in your hole just yet, ok? you'll be socializing with the people you are helping right? and your coworkers? and i'm still trying to talk octo into coming to get me, so we can pay you a visit. maybe octo's people skills will rub off?

jay, do keep in touch. and how's that song coming along? i'd like to hear it.

Hey thanx! Good idea. Will they hold the 'Double Gulp', which is like a small lake in a container?...heh.

Thanx again...
Best,
Jay

Hey thanx very much Tabitha. Ya, you are right..maybe I will get something out of all of this. (Besides a good paycheck..heh.) I've doubled my dose of clonazepam for this afternoon, tonight, and tommorow..so I will be a tad 'dopey' but won't be looking for the nearest exit..heh.

Yeah...Big Gulps aren't really good for you...even though I drink diet soda, still. Really, though, just imagine all of the *stuff* we do in our cars! It's like a moving bedroom. (In..ahh..many ways too...lol.) My next vehicle may be a mini van...so I can pile more junk into it!..heh.

Anyhow..thank you...that was very kind.

Peace and best,
Jay

Ohhh K_k...how are you? Ya, the whole work situation (at a good job) is what I need at this point in my life. Doing the 'basic' jobs (i.e. cleaning, security guard) helped me when I was *realllllly* bad. But, I've got a few college degrees and my folks and people around me have encouraged me to go this route and do what I was mean't to do. I still think I have the 'spark' left in me, plus a bit more of a mature, humbler, kinda guy.

So, yes..music...I've been recording some of the covers that I play in my, uh, 'cover band'...we do 80's and 90's retro stuff every Sunday night at a local club. I've got a good version of "The Sun Always Shines On T.V." by A-ha, and maybe I'll put that up sometime. It's hard working on originals, because it takes so much time to do it well and proper. Again, we'll see what the summer brings. I was thinking of doing an instrumental called 'Psycho-Bable-Blues'...so I'll keep you updated.

If you wanna email me..let me know too...we can chat more.

Thanx so much...and Peace and best,
Jay

i'm doing well jay. perfect in fact! perhaps even fatastic? i won't try to spoil the luck, so i'll stop there.

and i'm certain you have the *spark* still left in you. are you looking for a possible assistant at this point though? typing, not so good. spelling, even worse! but, boy do i have people skills! if interested, please contact karen kay at karen_kay12 at yahoo dot com

if hired as jay's assistant, i'll be sure to always wear short skirts (do they even make long ones?) and arrive promptly at noon (central time).

and jay, have i asked you to marry me yet?

hope you had a lovely day.

Oh goodness young lady...Me is tryin' REALLY hard...yeah!! My shell is still a bit heavy, but I crawl around outside sometimes. (The drugs help ;-)

Well...ya sure, wear short skirts and I am the politess (sp?) of gentlemen. (Damn Prozac keeps the hormones down..lol.)

I am trying to work on some music...it sounds good when I am on Ritalin and Benzos :-)

Gawd it has been a long, hot day of meetings and reading policies..."It's not the heat...it's the inhumanity..", as the song goes.

I'm tryin'......really...

Peace as always,
Your humbled servant,
Jay

P.S. About the marryin' bit...can we all get married...you know..one big happy family?..lol
J.

you called me young lady. i really liked that, but it may become problematic if it continues. i may be young, but i'm no lady. wait, i may be a lady, but i'm not young. anyway, it reminds me of my mother. so, to help you avoid sounding like my mother, i will give you a list of things you may call me (and things that i find rather flattering):

*kk (but that's no fun)
*karen kay (especially when you are angry)
*karen *%&% kay (for those times when you are VERY angry)
*lovely (i have always been fond of that one... for example, "well hello lovely".. you get what i'm saying, right?)
*dear (that's always welcome, though i think a bit overused by some very obnoxious poster, but she is very sweet, i assure you)
*doll (i like that one too :)
*sweet heart (that has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?)

now, a list of words to avoid when posting to me:
*anything regarding my large rump (you know the variety)
*mrs anything (not until i have a very large and expensive ring on my finger. i can foresee being called mrs jay, what about you? or, you could take my last name and be mr jay kay. that sounds cuter, don't you think? but again, i must see the ring!)
*sh@t head (that one's reserved only for someone very dear to my heart. i believe in any other context i may be offended, but somehow being a sh@t head doesn't sound so bad coming from the right voice and when it's used sincerely.)
*big girl (now this one i could talk about all day long. i'm tall, not big! i have big feet, big hands YES! i'll admit it. but i'm not a football player.)

and you are polite? of course you are dear, but if i hit on you, you'd hit back, right? i just can't handle rejection. perhaps we can work out the problems with your new meds?

i'm sure your music always sounds good, even when not on ritalin and benzos. oh dear, i almost forgot that you're a bass player. how are your fingers doing today? i worry you know? you must protect those lovely hands and especially those fingers!

i'm glad you are trying dear. and you are doing a beautiful job too. and i included my email in the last post, so feel free to email me anytime. i'll set an alarm to my account so i can respond in a flash.

oh, and about that 'big happy family' thing. you're my favorite jay. but, you really should learn banjo and become scottish, if possible :)

your pretentious master,
kk
