TED - how's Dusty?

Hi Ted,

I was just wondering how your cat is this week. Did you speak with your vet about the possibility of getting Elavil in another form? Will any other tricyclic AD's work?

The vet is my wife's job, especially since she is the one protecting the piss-cat. Anyway, I don't think she has asked about anything else yet. My next pdoc appt is next week, and I was going to ask if there is somewhere I can buy 1 g (i.e. 1000 mg) of pure amitriptyline powder (I will use a vet prescription). Since it is freely soluble in water, I can make a water solution from which we add only 1 or 2 drops into the cat food. That would be about 1 year supply.

In any case, Dusty is behaving better but she still hates the pills and resists taking them (but not the tapazole pills, so it is certainly taste).

Hi Ted,

Thanks for the update. Please let us know how Dusty is doing. Perhaps your pharmacist can compound/concoct something that will make the Elavil more palatable for Dusty.
