Photo need help

Posted by mashogr8 on August 22, 2002, at 11:25:17

I can't figure out what the word is to the left of Dr. Bob and what are those photos?

One looks like a cougar or wildcat and to me the other looks like a tire or a snail but then I'm always wrong with visuals.

The vertical set of letters appear to me to be lower case letters of the Greek alphabet:

?
sigma
psi
zeta
eta
omicron?

OK, I enlarged the photo, and this is *my* interpretation (talk about Rorschach tests!):

Facing the image:

Vertical on left, reading up: "gone to yokohama"
reading down: "psycho"
reading across the bottom: upper: "please be civil"
lower: "Dr. Bob"
top-right: "babble"

Vertical, on right: lower case Greek letters
?
sigma
psi
zeta
eta
omicron

(as far as I can tell, this has no meaning)

Image in center: Dr. Bob looking particularly pensive.
Image overlain on Dr. Bob: Pond water ripples.

Image at top right: looks like a face. Perhaps a woman wearing a hat. On a blue background. Note that this blue background overflows to the areas under the tire, under the Greek letters, and to the left of the Greek letters.

Image at right center: Tire (as in Yokohama Tires).

Well, thank you kind sir for your excellent analysis. But is there something else between the pensive Bob (which I saw as an "authority figure" with the gentle hint to PBC) and the Greek letters? And how did you enlarge the picture? do you think DB left those letters to confuse us or to make us try to figure out a message while he was gone. Is the letter above sigma a real letter or just to hard to discern?

It did take me five minutes or so to find the babble when I first looked at the picture. I figured it had to be there but it finally stood out. The Yokohano (spelling from memory which is most deficient these days) tires, I've never heard of-- for cars or motorbikes?

Thanks again for your sleuthing.

If you have windows, you can just right-click on the picture, choose Save Picture As..., and select Save as Type Bitmap .BMP. Then open the bitmap file. It should come up in the Paint program. Pick the little magnifying glass, and you can enlarge 2x, 6x, and 8x. Unfortunately once you enlarge it there isn't much detail.

I really like it, dreamer.

I especially like the please be civil prominently displayed. :)

So is that a samoyed puppy being held above the tire?

Or is this another rorshach test.

Let's see. Use of the white space. I'm exhibiting oppositional qualities?

And I still don't understand it.

I love the opportunity to learn new words, but I'm going to have to work a bit more on this one.

Erm it's when all the senses are connected , say , red sounds like thunder or a name smells like chicken
Or you see music in forms of shape and color..still think i spelled it wrong - that's the effexor in me

You explained it much better than the dictionary. So now I have a new word in my vocabulary. And I guess you spelled it OK, because I was able to find it in the dictionary.

And based on my experience with Effexor, it's pretty amazing you could remember the word. I stopped midsentence sometimes trying to think of the words for things like refrigerators or doors. :)
