It's seemed awfully quiet on all the boards the last few days. I realize that boards have cycles, but because of the timing I just wanted to ask...
Is anyone feeling a bit self-conscious?
It's probably just my tendency to try to make patterns out of data even when none exist. And perhaps I'm wrong about the quiet too. I think way too much.

It is quieter than it has been. I assumed many folks were using the chat feature instead.
The last couple of days I've actually had a little energy and have been trying to "catch up" and my hubby has monopolized the computer. :)
It also seems quite a few of the "old crew" (I've only been here about a year), have decided to take time off - Sar, Cam, dreamer...

Dinah,I have noticed similar things too. Another troubling(?) thing seems that the routine amount of jokes circulating through email have dropped off considerably. It seemed to be peaking before Sept. 11th, then it dropped, then it was jokes related to the terrorists, then all of the funny stuff just seemed to go away entirely. It is a little weird like everybody's waiting for the next shoe to drop, or they are worried about their jobs. Could also be we are nowhere near any holidays.

I guess I was just wondering if anyone was worried about being quoted in Dr. Bob's lecture. I think I always read way too much into things. Dr. Bob didn't say anything that could offend anyone, I don't think, but the fact that there hasn't been the usual repartee about the lecture has sort of made it seem like a Thing Unspoken. And I hate things unspoken. I always feel compelled to bring them out in the open.
But again, I'm probably reading too much into it. Maybe everyone is busy or feeling down or something.

down, trying to add 'real world' things, on chat regularly, try to respond to only a few things on the booards, my brain is mush re: PB, i dont think I have anything more to add to posts already here PBS, i think there is an ebb and flow. I dont think dr lecture had anything to do with anything...except perhaps some of us are very comfortable here, so, like me, didnt think to comment. Right now i am trying to think of a book to suggest.

Do you like mysteries? My favorite modern author, Martha Grimes, just came out with yet another book. I don't know how she does it.
I have bought A Candle at Midnight as suggested on the board previously and am enjoying it. It's a little repetitive, but it's soothing. (Using the concept of the Vigil from the Bible during Depression).
Hmmm, I am also picking up Ayn Rand again because I love to try and discount her theories.

My psych testing says I'm wonderful at noticing details and putting them together to make a congruent whole. I'm less wonderful at putting them together correctly. :)

I hope this isn't taken badly, but your posts remind me of my husband, who thinks he "has" Aspergers as well.
They've helped me immensely to see what he has mentioned before. The touch thing. The not crying externally.

lesss see, 6:20-3= 3:00 pst...mmmm 2to4 abouts is difficult time, i could do 3:30 tho almost, 4 most likely. This is probably why I dont see you. Mornings are good, like 10:00 pst, which would be 1 est...did i figure htis right?

I havent checked properly but I think one of thems from mine (tho interestingly used as an example of something slightly different to what I meant!)
I dont mind it being there- I might if it wasnt anonymous! To me, its a sign of him listening to us (a prized attribute in a professional), and he is treating our messages respectfully. There's absolutely nothing that implies a 'look at this dreadful one/real loony(snigger snigger)' bit.
So I'm pleased, really.
And I like the openness of having it all openly available up on the web- how many doctors do that?
Personally, I've been quiet as no access to the technology for a while. But looks like the board has hotted up again!

When you hear your own words quoted out of context, it sounds as if someone else is speaking.
As an actor I speak other people's words in the public forum. So for MY words - not a character I've played - to be spoken or quoted in a public forum just feels strange and third person-ish. Revealing. Or maybe I simply thought to myself: "What the hell could someone learn from something I said?" Does this make any sense?But you did take the bulk of the statement so that I didn't think to myself: "Why did he only quote that one sentence..." or "That's not what I meant, he left something out". It made sense. And I appreciate the anonymity.
