Posted by rjlockhart37 on August 28, 2014, at 23:53:16

there was a an assement in 2012 i took ffor an angency called DARS, and they basically said that i was low intelliegence, my processing speed was vary low, they put all these diagnosis on me.....and yes i do have a vary hard time doing things than other people, that's why i have to use diffrent tactics, but still ... i know im not stupid, of course not, but still i have memories of people giving you that look like your dumb and make comments, people talking behind my back.....

really the only source to rely on is god....that or full force belief to change the mind

I'm glad your future is to be one of continued accomplishment and the establishment of self-confidence and a strong ego. You have grown a TREMENDOUS amount in a relatively short period of time. You are indeed intelligent (probably above average) as well as being observant and contemplative. You are kind and caring.

Learning to use different tactics is so smart. My child has dyslexia, and every so often I come across someone who thinks dyslexics are slow. Well, that is judging a person on the few things they cannot do well (like reading) and ignoring all that they can do!

I agree with Scott. You are a caring and intelligent person.

different people are good at different things. it is about finding what it is that *you* are good at. you might not have 'traditional intelligence' measured by whatever tests... but a lot of people don't - and that doesn't mean they can't go on to succeed at a bunch of stuff. and a lot of people do really well at them - but that doesn't mean that they will go on to succeed at a bunch of stuff, either.

i think it can be useful to get some kind of indication... i mean... i don't think that anybody likes to feel like they are banging their heads up against a wall persisting in something that they aren't particularly good at... that they don't particularly enjoy at any rate. i think it is better to try and search out what it is that you are good at and what it is that you enjoy.

it is a hard one... knowing when to persist... and knowing when to give up...

it really isn't the end of the world, rj.

they told me i don't have the math to do science... i, uh, failed the math test pretty badly. the math test that was about the level of your third year at high school. oh wells... time will tell... i f*ck*d up the ratio on my biology drawing because i thought it was like a constant equation and i had to find the decimal rather than simplifying the fraction :(

doh.

whatever... it's all good...

how's your computer stuff going?

when i was at tech i learned about teamwork... how some people had a knack for knowing where everyone was all intuitively on a sports field... i can't do that. and i even saw a couple special needs classes... and some of those kids were really chilled... and really happy... and i don't seem able to do that, either. i don't suppose it is possible for everyone to be good at everything. i think that is a big fat myth. i think it is good that people are different... good at differnet things... there is a bunch of awful history about our valuing some things more highly than others... i think we (as a sociaety) are coming to recognitise that as b*llsh*t, though...

you are a very good writer. very good at expressing yourself with words. the majority of the world is not good at that. i know often you feel badly for how much you express yourself here... but the fact is that you do express yourself very well indeed. not many people have that talent, rj. i bet you have a bunch more...

this surprises me, actually. i'd have thought you would have done well at verbal aspects of an iq test, at least. vocabulary stuff. metaphors. etc.

i remember you have posted about having problems with focusing your attention sometimes? that could get in the way of your properly focusing on a test... have your score come out much worse than it would have if you had have done it in a focused state.

i really (really really really) hate iq tests and the like... anyway...

but then i test really badly in math. really very badly indeed. i did a test earlier in the year (around feb) that was about 3rd year of high school level and i failed it really rather badly. apparently my math is nowhere near good enough for me to do science at university...

maybe i should have listened to them - heh?

;-)

and it wasn't like i didn't study my *ss off (for, like, weeks, in preparation for it).

hang in there, you :)

and i aced the verbal score... and yet i just did a bunch better in physics than i did in law. go figure.

not that i aced physics, to be sure... but, still...

i really think... these tests... are really rather meaningless.

i write much better than i talk, i have to be real about that.....me in person i'm limited in discussing ideas unlike like i do here on babble.....this is kinda my online idenity....i go much much deeper in thought on these boards than i do in person......

alot of friends and family have googled my name, and found my posts from 05, they don't recognize the way i express my thought here....transfer the way i write into speech maybe would be a good idea

i hate IQ tests, i stare at the problem for 2 min and then look at the bubble fill and trying to just give it a guess.....

teamwork, being on a team, maybe make babble a team and join eachother on solving problems lol it makes it so much easier and less pressure than on one person, because the energy is connected with others.....not only one, it's really a achivement when someone conquers problems that seemed not solvable, and being on a team is vary good idea, the miltary intelligence, all the military is a team, get things done, always good feel belonged somewhere and being appricated for thoughts that are given

the computer classes start the 16th this month, unless they cancel them because some of the classes are not filled up enough

thanks scott::)) maybe not the best at tests that fill in bubbles and a test booklate with only 45min to complete....im not good at those, and got vary poor scores, diffrent tactics....to use besides the traditional view of intelligence....

thanks you scott
