Zoloft, Bright Green Cooked Spinach, Frozen Yogurt

Posted by corafree on May 31, 2006, at 16:00:25

These three things have something in common.

In the past 20yrs there have been only three things that lifted me out of a depression. Each time it was fleeting. Each time was like night and day!!!!! I felt like the person I was when I left my home and went off to college; a happy person. Something caused my brain to work like it did BEFORE it learned to feel bad via trauma, heartache, desertion, guilt, shame, etc. etc.

Any ideas?

bestwishes, cf

The Zofolt I would think had chemical benefits. The foods might be comfort food for you, things that remind you of a happy time, or that you might have eaten when you were doing well? I have many food and aroma associations that can make me feel better.
Chocolate is a never-miss.

Can you think of anything that makes you feel some sense of joy or contentment? Maybe writing them down, so you can reflect on them might help. For me listening to our kids laugh and play, watching them play outside - esp. with our dog, sitting and petting our dog...simple things. They don't always lift me, but I know in some way, at some times they bring me real contentment.

Appreciate insight.

I have to say though, the foods, they were eaten while I was working, during lunch. It was a 'definite physical/mental high' and had nothing at all to do w/ a situation or the situation I was in. Something in all three of these things 'opened wide the feel good window', startling me. All lasted just hours.
