Just a min of your feedback please???-CYCLING

Posted by Krissy P on March 12, 2003, at 22:05:11

Hi all, I really don't mean to whine, I think I am cycling. From talking to most of you, does it seem to any of you as if I am cycling? I know I am not the center of this board! I have been in a pretty good mood, but for the past 2 days I have gone up and down-severe. I would be so grateful if ANYONE could just hear me, offer me any kind of wisdom they have on this. I was diagnosed in 1997, as a rapid cycler. I get in these moods where I can't just snap out of it-I just can't and it gets me in a really bad spot. As far as the Lamictal, I feel I am bugging some with my posts, and I'm sorry if you feel that way. I still have a bad headache-even after taking Maxalt today-prescribed to me for PRN migraines. I didn't sleep well last night and had dreams about rats!
I have support-but it has ran out-and I do not like letting my family see when I get in these moods. They already know about my meds, etc. Please, please, I am not desparate-I guess I just want to be heard. I have had a good time this week-went out with 2 friends, saw a movie, and finished my college term-so why am I depressed? I know-no one can answer that-can anyone share anything they think might help me??
I am really not doing good, but as some of you can see, my posts this week may have displayed otherwise-that's why I'm asking about rapid cycling.
I am depressed because my friend is planning her wedding, most of my friends have kids, and here I sit-wondering what or where I have gone wrong in that I'm 32, not married, or have kids. Maybe I am just ungrateful? I don't think that is the case at all. Please don't get me wrong-I am really happy for my friend in getting married-it just brings up such painful feelings for me-painful.
I HATE this sooooooooooooooooooo very much.
Thanks for letting me bitch:-(
I never mean to-I'm just reaching out.............I'm not going to beg, I just hope to hear back from someone who I hopes understands this and can help.

Kristen,

You mentioned you weren't seeing a counselor - I do wish you would start again. I think one of the benefits is having someone who can see the big picture of how you are - those that are close can't se it, as we can't on a daily level.

Wish I could say about your cycling, but can't - please hang in there.

Girl- I so hear your pain about everyone getting married. My younger brother and sister are both tying the knot this year and I'm as single as ever.

I used to cycle, although not as rapidly as you, but Lamictal and Seroquel have really evened me out. I feel normal again. I can cry when I want, I guess I mean at appropriate times, and be happy when I'm supposed to be happy. I used to be an insomniac as well. Depression and confusion used to hit me the hardest when I would lay awake for hours during the night, and that still happens every once in a while.

Another thing, go ahead and bitch. It makes me feel better when I'm frustrated. And you may think you've exhausted your support group, but dont sell them short. I still have faith that your peeps will come through when you need them.

Thnaks, May I ask what your dosages are of both the Lamictal and Seroquel? I have a girlfriend who I believe I have exhausted her support, but a lot of people are wrapped up in their lives and rightfully so-I just feel bad sometimes when I'm there for them and feel like it's a one-way street ya know???? I am grateful for all that have been there for me, and I do the same regarding my family, friends, etc. It's just been a long, windin, haul!!!
Thanks so much for your support:-)
There will be times when I will bitch away.......
Kristen:-)

I'm on 200 mg of Lamictal and I take 100 mg of Seroquel at night. It seems to be a really good combo right now.

I feel like I'm on the opposite end of the one way street. Maybe I'm just insensitive and don't realize I'm exhausting my friends by telling them my probs.

How often do you do therapy? Maybe you could increase it for a little while and get all your venting out. It's refreshing to have an objective person listening to your problems rather than friends who will always try to comfort when sometimes you just need real understanding.

Hope you're feeling better.
