Fish Oil/EPO ratio and dose

I've been reading about the above mentioned oils and am convinced that they will be useful to me for many conditions for which I am being treated. All of the conditions, (which I've listed below), have a host of symptoms and some overlap. The thing is, I get confused about the ratios of Gamma 6's and 3's and how to balance them. I also take a women's multivitamin with a bunch of herbs included a few times a day. Ordinarily, I'd just pop them randomly, but it appears that that approach could possibly undermine the beneficial effects I am seeking. Here are the conditions I am hoping to ameliorate:
fibromyalgia
depression
perimenopause
Any suggestions? Comments?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. Add anxiety to the mix, and you're talking about me, too. I'd like to take Omega 3, but wonder about the mixes, as you, and also about avoiding the mercury, etc.

Good post!

most manufacturers have taken the mercury out

of the fish oil
i use kirunal because of the required 3 to 1 ratio of epa/dha, important for depression/bipolar

specialty products has a good product, too

the dose is 1g of epo per day

epo has no mercury in it, or too little to measure

best

I included a link that I found to be very interesting. It discusses the ratio of EPA to DHA; what conditions it can help with; how much to take, etc.

http://www.gnc.com/health_notes/Supp/Fish_Oil.htm

I take Carlson fish oil capsules. I am up to 6 capsules/day, which is 1.8 grams of EPA/DHA combined.

Hope this helps.
