latuda vs rexuli

Posted by rjlockhart37 on December 24, 2022, at 3:29:49

i've been on latuda for 5 months, i take 120 at night. I don't notice an antidepressant feeling, for dark depression. I take it, i notice a little difference but it's not helping depression. They wrote, lurasidone is for bipolar depression, but rexulti is for major depressive disorder. I much rather take Rexulti, lurasidone is partial agonist of 5-HT1A receptors, making it have mild antidepressant properties. But it does not help depression, with me. I much rather dis, and just keep lithium for depressive phase

But any comments, or experiences with Rexulti here, please let me know. It's neuroleptic but i read it's treated depression was good response. Please let me know

latuda has not been working with mental disturbances all this started 4-5 weeks ago. Insomnia started, then it's hard to describe but just disturbed thoughts. I'm not crazy, but it's like my thoughts won't shut up, and for nights i've walked the floors at night. It's not effective, for both mood, and thought disturbances. I don't tell anyone what's going on, because they would think im crazy. But, i don't know what else to write, pressured speech in my posts, and seems manic. I don't know else to say

but, just has anyone here, have good reviews of rexulti? just let me know, thanks

Rexulti or some other mood stablizer - been through hell these past weeks. Good ole lithium has helped with stablization with keeping me from mania.

I found latuda drove my anxiety *sky high*!! It was almost horrific. Rexulti is much like Abilify....not much difference, I found. But, WAY better than Latuda, which really caused MAJOR akathisia (inner restlessness). Ironically, I found taking my stimulant (Vyvanse) WITH latuda at bedtime was the only way I could sleep...lol!!

I'd personally go with Rexulti. I think you will notice a big difference RJ.

I found Latuda (lurasidone) a nice drug in that it had no side effects, but it also didn't help noticeably.

there's times, i was extremely depressed a few nights ago, i mean talking depressed, as in impairment. I took my night dose of latuda, about hour later, i noticed i didn't have depressed negative hopelessness feeling. It did seem to lift out of it, but most of the time, it does not. Latuda is agonist on one the serotonin receptors, rexulti is both, i don't want to do sceitific review, rexulti partial agonist on on D2 receptors and serotonin. If dopamine levels are high transmissioning, it reduces it from antagoist, but if there is no tranmission, it lifts dopamine to baseline. If your manic and take rexulti, it will reduce transmission, but antagonist to underactive increases transmission. But it's expensive very much, but its for major depressive disorder. Latuda is for bipolar depression, so im guessing it antagonizes he receptors that are active in overactive bipolar transmission. I would like to try rexulti but expensive, and doctor does not listen and stays with medications that don't work. There coming up with new antipsychotic that have agonist properties for depression

i'd vote rexulti. aripiprazole has been mostly good to me, but I get some anxiety that feels oddly chemically-induced (not akathisia), so I asked prescriber about rexulti. and...

her experiences have been positive. not a huge step forward over aripiprazole, but less akathisia, seems somewhat better for people prone to bouts of intense depression. and...

yeah. aripiprazole is generally easier to tolerate than drugs that block D2 w/ no partial agonism. that's the -big- appeal for me, especially when one is dealing with full dose, major tranquilizer level dosing. lower doses...seem tricky, to me at least. and...

it seems rexulti is less tricky in dosing as as add-on in people taking antidepressants for bad depression, or at least my prescriber seems to think so sorry to just relay 2nd, 3rd hand observations...its pretty much what I have to offer.

aripiprazole..if I recall correctly...causes less of an increase in deaths over other neuroleptics, old and new. choking, cardiovascular events...pick a reason these drugs are serious and to be prescribed and taken with caution. so...yeah. if I recall correctly, there's still a bump -- and aripiprazole has an unusually high NMS rate vs other atypicals -- but overall it seems less toxic, which certainly explains...

why some studies have reported than patients treated with full doses for the more severe diagnoses express a preference for aripiprazole vs whatever else, and also there's limited data pointing to an improvement in overall quality of life, something not found with many other tranquilizers (old and new...kinda sad, huh?).

ok. so...rexulti is my vote. but not the V one...it really sounds like Haldol or Prolixin, but with the D2 partial agonism thrown in so people don't hate it quite -that- much.

:-) hope this helps

Cariprazine (Reagila, Vraylar) is another dopamine partial agonist. I tried it, and I'm inclined to say the smallest dose, 1.5 mg, was the best. It was better than aripiprazole in terms of adverse effects. I've never come in touch with brexpiprazole (Rexulti).
