stopping prozac

been on Prozac ...10 mg...stopping going to Lexapro....will the 10 mg of Lexapro work even faster that the 10 Prozac was stopped and Lexapro added next day

No, will not be expected to work faster.

Could potentially be dangerous since prozac takes a week just for half of it to leave your body. It could combine with lexapro to cause serotonin syndrome. I think the risk is low, but real, and should be respected.The doses are probably too low to be worrisome, but these things are not always predictable.

If the instructions to do this came from your MD, then he feels confident it is safe. I wouldn't expect anything to happen fast though.

yea prozac has to be out of your system before starting another ssri......prozac is known to take more longer than other SSRI's to take effect, 6 weeks or more .... other SSRI's are faster in getting working

fluoxetine is good on the mood, yet it....just yea takes long time to build up and start increasing serotonin levels

Since you were only on 10 mg of Prozac, I wouldn't consider it a big deal stopping the Prozac cold turkey and starting the Lexapro. I don't think the Lexapro is going to work any quicker because its a different molecule.
