med situations - I need awnser please

Posted by rjlockhart37 on October 17, 2012, at 14:01:32

I've stated this in various posts in the past...but this is getting me really frustrated. When I take my medications orally it has little effect, i started putting zyprexa under my tongue and it does have an effect but nothing like the effect it had 2 years....there are two things im thinking that this could be...

GI track is not working right, and minimal or no absorbation of meds. Also known as malabsorbation issues from sources. I've been talking with my doctor about this and it makes me frustrated because they tell me im worried too much over silly worry, and refuse to even investigate, i'm gonna have to force this issue hard over and over until I can get tests done.

2nd is that my body has a resistance with meds...or something in the brain is not traditionally working, has developed adaption.

I don't know how to find the problem because people, doctors don't take me seriously and refer me to nuerotic fears of silly things. It's like walking around in a delrium state, and no one aknowades there is something wrong, saying you appear normal. That's what...

please help about this issue, i know there's limited perspective of this but find something to at least be a fact of this.

Hi rj,

My guess is that the problem is due to your 2nd suggestion: "2nd is that my body has a resistance with meds...or something in the brain is not traditionally working, has developed adaption."

This happens far more often than you might think. It has certainly happened to me, with many a med.

You should just tell your pdoc that your med at the current dose is no longer effective, that you suspect tolerance has developed. And suggest that either an increase in the dose of said med is in order, or perhaps a change to a different med. These are really the only ways to overcome the problem, and there is always the chance that even these solutions may not work. Let me know if you have any questions.
My best,
Kat

I think the Zyprexa is working. No more rants about the Devil controlling you. Maybe you feel normal because of it and that's its effect. What do you expect to feel?
