To SLS (or others with feedback)

Posted by b2chica on April 13, 2012, at 14:16:47

scott whats going on?
i dont normally get cycling from an atypical...normally only ssri's in past?
would an atypical do this? any reports on neg effects from zyprexa generic?

wed and thursday felt:
full of energy, anxiety ready to do,
nervous wreck, thinking in incomplete sentences
soft of urgently depressive S.thinking/inner anger
felt frozen inside.
like a hurricane inside but muscles frozen outside.
confused and energetic
somewhat impulsive

today feel down not in suicidal sense. but physically down, slow, heavy, dont want to/cant smile. feel like my face weighs 20lbs. dont want to talk to anyone. cant do eyecontact.
sad but not overwhelmingly sad. meaning i'm not bursting into tears over anything.
feel work to even get off my chair.

is this just my emotions going back to their standard states?
am i doing a reboud off yesterday.

*******************

im going back to my old question of is this the med or is this me feeling like this.
so do i stop the TEVA assuming its the med, or do i stick with it assuming its me and just not stable yet.

*****************

i think my pdoc called today but i honestly dont know. i'm in a lab that gets cruddy cell reception. i checked and had new voicemails, went to play it and it was pdoc intermittent and i accidently erased it. so 1)not sure what he said and 2)could have been an old one.
i txt him telling him as much. but its hard to get across how ones feeling in a txt.
as you see i tend to write short novels to describe.

I think its your illness. you were in a bad way for some time when you were off the zyprexa also. I suggest taking 10mg. If that does not work try brand. Also you could take more perphenazine. I've often wondered why you take so little. I think perphenazine may counter the weight gain. Also take wellbutrin, thats good for weightloss and tiredness.

Antipsychotics can cause bizarre stuff to happen. Not only that, but if you've been on them before and then stopped, well, things can be even more bizarre on the return. Mix the disease itself in there and it's a mess. Usually when zyprexa is going to work good for someone it will do so very quickly, like within a day to several days.

Anyway, not sure what to tell you except I'm sorry you feel so crappy! Sounds aweful to me. If it were me I doubt seriously I would be able to purposefully continue popping a pill that made me feel that bizarrely out of place.

All medication is going to worsen you. You need to start with a mood stabilizer, then most of your symptoms will go away.

hey zyprexa. i'm going to see how today pans out. i should know by noon today. so far only min down.
sat i was ok sun down, hard to keep smile up and had social gathering i went to.
today down but not that bad.

i am on little perph, for anxiety and doc said that low dose for anxiety higher for psychosis.
i wonder if i could have gotten away with more perphenazine and no zyprexa. but i think pdoc is really worried about TD.
and i LOVED wellbutrin. it was the first drug that worked very well for me. it lasted about a year than pooped out. a few years ago i tried it again but got generic. one generic caused bad side effects. tried another generic (teva and lemon?)and got worse. tried name brand for two weeks and only get worse so i had to trysomething else.
so im afraid there's no going back to that one.
wish there was another similar to wellbutrin.

thnx.

You might be a candidate for combining Abilify and Lamictal. There is some dopamine activity that these drugs modulate. That you once responded to Wellbutrin is a good sign that this combination treatment could work. In fact, I I know someone who experienced this treatment scenario. You could keep the perphenazine and switch out the Zyprexa for Abilify.

Hey Scott!
last nov i went on abilify 5 then 10 and i got rages. severe irritability, and was a dissociated mess. pdoc accounted it to abilify, but i thought it might have been because i was also taking klonipin. anyway i got taken off abilify and landed in hospital.

what do you think? i know people have mentioned abilify can be activating at certain doses, but i cant remember if higher or lower was better.

Did you land in the hospital because things got worse after you stopped taking the Abilify?

I don't think I would go back to Abilify based upon your description. Saphris (asenapine) is another AAP attracting attention as being a calming drug with antidepressant effects. Two people on Psycho-Babble are having success with this drug.

i think i mostly landed in the hospital because even though the rages simmered down my depression when through the floor and dissociation prevalent and pdoc needed me safe and monitored on a daily basis. was in day program at hospital for a month. of course getting back on zyprexa. was at 10mg. between jan and feb i gained like 20lbs so that's when i got off zyprexa and did fair till april when i went on perphenazine. things were Great until fall i think about oct.

I tske cogentin for TD, seems to work well at the 3x 12mg a day. With out it I get shaky. I take 1mg a day. Sorry the wellbutrin didn't work out. There are other stimulants. Did you try the generic sr version. The xl didn't work for me. Also I drink a lot of caffine, seems to work well.

I was on abilify for 6 months and got realy messed up. It has taken me almost 5 years to get the zyprexa working properly again. I was on realy high doses of zyprexa for a while and slowly decreaed. also had to add perphenazine. Its possible that the same is happening to you.

How did Abilify affect you?

wellbutrin i did two generics and original (xl)
what is the sr version?

and i haven't upped zyprexa yet, I'm 'waiting it out'. so far yesterday was only little low.
today has yet to be seen but i'm hopeful.

its very possible similar happened to me (abilify messing things up)
but i am not a fan of generics in this genre, so i'm still blaming generic a bit.
if anything i may ask to up perphenazine again.

thanks z!

It lost me my job. Made me lose sleep. Low blood sugars so I was eating sugar all the time. Gave me realy bad TD, shaky hands, so I couldn't work. Also I was dilusional. Dizzy. Anxious a lot. Paranoid.

That's a horrendous outcome. I hope you never have to experience that again.
