Hi everyone !
I have bipolar, borderline and GAD. I didn't take the drugs my psychiatrist told me to take. Hence she said I'm on my own in that matter.
I take Zyprexa 5-10 mg,Abilify 15 mg, wellbutrin 450 mg, Lyrica 600 mg, Ativan 4 mg, Xanax a lot, maybe 6 mg/day (I'm very sick now. I have purchased everything I need to have for commiting suiside 02.10.12.) Should I and how, should I reduce my meds. Do you think I have too many drugs ?

well the pdoc cant force you to take the meds. however if your not compliant you both need to work to find out why. is it bad side effects, dont work etc.? its pretty crapypy that she just threw her hands up and said your on your own.
(but remember you are Not on your own) we're here for you. and please whatever you purchased for acting on your suicidal thoughts, get rid of it. if you cant throw it away, or flush it. at least give it to a trusted friend or neighbor for the time being.About your meds. my eyebrow when up when you say you were on all your on. not because of the number but the combination. with your suicidal thoughts i would cut down on abilify to 10 then to 5 then 2.5 if needed then off. That might help with thoughts and anxiety you also need to cut back on xanax use however you may have some difficulty as you ar eon pretty high. i'm suprised you have been Rx'd ativan AND xanax? i'm not sure if thats common but i would say that's kinda dangerous.
the wellbutrin and abilify could be causing anxiety, the ativan and xanax are helping anxiety and sleep and the lyrica wellbutrin and zyprexa should be helping with depression right?
(zyprexa and abilify and possibly ativan and xanax for manic episodes correct?)i'd say you need to find another pdoc and taper off some meds and change to other ones. This cocktail is obviously not working for you.
You will be ok. But you need to get your meds adjusted first. please do not act on any thoughts you may have right now. call a friend to come stay with you if needed. call any crisis line. admit yourself to the hospital if needed to stay safe. find a new pdoc if you dont feel comfortable going back to the old one.
Stick with it and stick around here. there are other more knowledgeable people here to help out.

Yes!
Pick 3 that you think help the most then taper off the rest.
Also, the benzo's / lyrica can induce depression.
Consider adding omega-3 and some folic acid.

I'd pick one antipsychotic, one benzo. Maybe drop the ativan and up the xanax? They say its got mild antidepressant action. I don't know. Probably more addictive than ativan.

I was not compliant with the meds my pdoc prescribed for me; zyprexa, abilify and ativan. I tried, really hard to use them, but I got manic around new years evening. And didn't think I was ill, at all, and cut out all meds. Then my pdoc said that take at least 5 mg zyprexa. And I did. I asked for a secon opinion from another doc, and he suggested adding abilify 30 mg, and I did. But by the end of lest week, I got suicidally depressed.I can't even warm food for myself in the microwave, or take my jammies off, exluding wednesdays when I meet my pdoc. She disagrees with the meds, which I obtained from 2 other docs. I needed two docs also, because I needed drugs one physician would not prescribe; my suicide meds; ACE inhibitors, Beta blockers and Calsium antagonists. Even though I'm suicidal I will not kill myself until october. I love my pdoc; she has taken such good care of me. It's me that is being difficult. I have tried to commit suicide 3 times; once resuscitated, twice treated with hemodialysis. But my doc knows that I hate the hospitals, that they traumatize me, and I feel like a prisoner. That's why she hasn't committed me, even thou she said she thought I should be commited. But I promise I'm safe. and I really am.
I thought that since I won't live very much longer, I might as well use whatever makes me survive, and makes my life livable, hence the euphoric drugs.

Do you feel you severly depressed now as I think you said you were. Why Oct? What does that month signify for you? And also you must not doc shop for meds. Also you may hate the hospital but how did you feel when released better? Phillipa

My responce went somewhere, but thanks for your support. I always feel worse after the hospitalisation. October was when my baby girl was born into Heaven. I feel I need to go take care of her.

Meddie so sorry for your loss how painful that must have been and still is for you. Do you have a husband if so does he know how you feel and your plan. If I was your baby girl I'd say hi Mom!!! I'm looking at you from a very special place and I know someday I will be with you. But please now yet. You have so many years you can enjoy and enjoy also for me. I'm thinking your Daughter is wanting happiness on Earth for you for many years. Do you feel also this could be true? Phillipa

Ok, this is totally instinct, last post of the day for me, gut reaction....
Keep zyprexa.
I don't like any of the others along with zyprexa except maybe the ativan or xanax.That said, one thing that really saddens my spirit is when we accidentally fall into the trap, we slide down the slippery slope of adding one med on top of another on top of another hoping the most recent addition will be the magic bullet but never is. Even if it was, it couldn't do its magic through the clutter of the other meds. Weaning off any those meds won't be easy, but I don't see how real progress can be made without totally replacing them, except zypexa stays. Adding to it I would be thinking in terms of broad spectrum coverage which basically means SSRI+TCA along with zyprexa for mood stabilization and antidepressant enhancement. Keep ativan or xanax if desired but not both.
Just an opinion at first glance.
