oh you guys, I'm feeling bad

Posted by floatingbridge on June 22, 2011, at 0:10:13

Could this be a benzo withdrawal affect, combined with rebound hopelessness after the pain clinic basically tells me to see a psychiatrist?

I'm having the thoughts that suggest I'm not doing well. I haven't really had them for awhile.

I am scared. Not that I will hurt myself. I never do. But that it would be best. I
really don't have them often, and now tonight.

Maybe it is just getting off benzos.

I ravaged the closet where I kept my meds--and mercies, found a few lunesta pills spilt out. I will be able to sleep and feel better tomorrow and deal with the mess of my life then.

Why did I miss so many life lessons?

My friend, don't worry.

Of course you feel as if it would have been better if you had never been born.

If you're like me.

But you know, life, there's lots of this and that, for me at any rate, it is very amusing.

I just wish it wasn't so painful.

Don't tell me.

It's not years spent on benzos is it?

I fear that.

Hang in there! In emergencies, until I was able to see a regular doctor, I've had to go to the ER to get a 2-week script of benzos, before.

Do what you need to do until you can see someone (BTW I saw that you found the Lunesta, that is good.)

z, everyone in the world is booked into eternity it seems. That waitlist at Stanford is long, at Pamf it's long; I cold-called someone, then missed his call.

I have a call out to the pdoc I ranted about. He didn't mean to leave me med-less, plus was shocked when I just ended it.

My gp, I imagine will kick me some sleep meds now that Stanford says so. (She's an anti-med zealot.) Since her mother did not do well on Nardil, she doesn't prescribe it.

If I had been single, and hadn't found the lunesta, I might have gone to the er. But what could I say? I wasn't really going to kill myself. Isn't that how it works at the er? I've never been. (But I didn't want to create upset for my family at night).

I'll try to patch something through today. And try to see if Nardil will be enough for benzos. As long as I can get to sleep, I will try without.

While not the most ridiculous reason I've encountered for NOT prescribing something, that is definitely up there.

Whoops! Zonked-centric worldview. :(
You're absolutely right. Yer a momma and a wife, I had momentarily forgotten about that. Understood.

Best of luck! You might also want to call your insurance carrier or go to their website and cold-call shrinks that they cover until you can be seen at Stanford (or elsewhere.)

Fb dear,
I am not inclined to not take seriously the thoughts you describe. Despite your difficulties with your Pdoc recently, you need to avail yourself of his services. I will kick your *ss if you don't. That's right, I can do it through the Internet because I'm talented like that.
Seriously though, this is too abrupt.
Take care, sleepysid

Sleepygirl, I hate to see your *ss--kicking abilities through the internet because if they are like you ability to make me laugh, I am taking you seriously.

OMG Sleepygirl.

Yeah, I know. It was too obvious to bring up to her, actually. Like maybe she would get triggered or something. Besides, when she said that, my mind came to a complete halt at the ironic humor.

Did you ever see Blade Runner? There's an opening scene where an android is given a voight-comp test (sp!) to see if he is a 'rea'l human. The assessor says, tell me, in your own words, [only the good] things that come to your mind about your mother.

It doesn't go well for the assessor after that.

But about the er. Does one have to say they are suicidal to go? Just curious how that works. Besides wouldn't they 'confiscate' a person for observation? That's probably if one was a danger. But you can't go in and say I feel real bad, can you?

Depends on the ER and the hospital as it seems quite a few don't have patience for what would be referred to as psych patients. If they have a psych unit someone might be called down to assess you. You would be asked who your doc is or was and call put in to them. If the doc thought you might be of danger to self or others based on last conversation or visit could hold for 72 hours. Or if no psych unit probably would call the doc also and same see what he/she says. You never know. Dispensing of controlled substances is different as I've seen on here in different states. Seems out West pain pills are used where here they are not unless surgery. Or cancer or what not hoping you figure out what to do. So Stanford has a waiting list? Where is Hubby? Hoping he's home with you. Love Phillipa

My experience is that ERs will immediately put you on observation and under security and section you if you say you are suicidal. If you are just really bummed out and have no suicidal plans, they'll keep you hanging around for a few hours to see a psych resident then send you home.

I can't beleive your p-doc just leaving you high and dry like that. Mine would never do that. Go to your insurance company's website and start making calls. Make at least three appointments so you can get some choice. That's how I found my (wonderful) p=doc. He was one of three appointments I made cold-calling from the insurance company's list. I knew as soon as I saw him that he would help me. The next week, I called him and asked if he would do therapy with me and he said yes. I was esctatic.

FB you mentioned that you haven't had benzos since 6/1 so it's not rebound sweety, it's just the normal symtoms that got you into treatment in the first place, isn't it?

I think it is. That's what I'm concluding. Down to that (frikkin') core. That's why I'm so hesitant to slap dash anything on.

:-/

Thanks for reading, Torrid. How are things going for you?

very good, better then good, great. meds poopup on me after 6-9 months so it will not last. I'm getting better at managing the poop out. Do me a favor next nov-dec if I'm not well remind me about poopout. I switch meds or take hollidays to manage poopout but when symtoms return I still don't recognise it's due to med poop out immediately.

Torrid, that's great to hear :-)

I'll try to remember. Given my memory, lol, here's an idea. Take out your calendar and write that down in Nov.

That's one heck of a time for meds to droop. Holidays and all, whether one is observant or not.

Yay! for good news from your way.

Sorry your not doing well. What's your current plan for treatment? Sorry I haven't been reading posts much. Hang in there.
