Hi:
I've been taking 'Zyprexa' for many years and it's a 'life-saver' to my Bipolar II with rapid cycler. However, it's also a very expensive med., even though my current insurance paying.Because, my health insurace changes in January, 2011, just wonder whether new pdoc. is willing to follow my med. combo., one of which is Zyprea.
Due to economical reason nowadays, I'm aware of 'price-cutting' methods among docs., including pdocs. For that reason, most of docs. prescribes 'generic form' or substitute med. as much as he/she can.
Just wonder when Zyprexa becomes 'Generic' and comes to the market in US?

The earliest possible date is October 2011. You can order generics from other countries, such as India. That's how I get my Abilify...its the same stuff and its relatively cheap.

From what I understand its generic in April 2011. Or aleast thats when the patent expires.

Yeah and they studied the use of fluoxetine to reduce olanzapine induced increased appetite.

No doubt it doesn't work very well though. Anyway, I bet they won't be studying that anymore now that fluoxetine is generic.
