Hi! I have been having side effects for the past couple of days and was wondering if someone could identify them as being from Abilify or not. I have been on 5 mg of Abilify for the past two weeks, in addition to being on Nardil since the middle of August. In the last couple of days I have had severe brain fog, trouble w/ expressing language and ideas, and most recently blurring vision and trouble w/ bright lights. I just can't think straight and have problems staying awake during the day. My questions are?
1) Has anyone experienced these symptoms from Abilify?
2) Can symptoms like this appear after two weeks of taking a drug? I have had no symptoms since I have been on the Abilify and now they just started up.
I will be heartbroken if I am forced to stop this drug. It is the first thing that has really helped me in the past ten years. It makes me feel like I am the person I used to be. Please give me your advice. Thank you.

I had somehwat similar symptoms, they started after a few days of being on 5mg (had been on low doses before to no effect). For me, it was just complete lack of energy, feeling of 'deadness', and a slight visual imperfection in one of my eyes becoming more noticeable. I would get home from work and lie on the floor for hours. I did not recieve any benefit from it though. However for me these effects started pretty soon. It has a long halflife so it could take a few days to build up, im surprised it is happening now. Have you been on other doses? Perhaps you just need to reduce the dose a bit.

The side effects didn't start until a couple of days ago (12 days after starting the drug) and have grown increasing worse. There is no way that I can stay on Abilify if this is indeed the drug that is causing the problem. Thank you for your help.

Abilify didn't work out for me. I got a weird, unpleasant restless feeling that I later learned was akathisia. That's the only time I've gotten it, and I've been on lots of psych meds, including other antipsychotics. Too bad for me, too, in that all the other APs I've been on make me tired. I wish you good luck.

hi, i take abilift for 3 months, and i have blurred vision, bright light problem
insomnia combatted with Ativan 2.5 mg
some akathasia
works ok for psyhosis i guess somethimes .

I am on 10mg Abilify and I've really had no SEs to speak of. I'm very sensitive to SEs, but the Abilify doesn't seem to trigger anything in me.
I was a little restless at first, but the Xanax took care of that.

I took abilify for 6 months. The only side effect that I had was the tiredness during the day. I suspect this came from the sleep I was missing at night, because the abilify is stimulating.
The brain fog might come from lack of sleep. I was not able to function at work on abilify. I thought that people were talking about me all the time at work. I don't know if this was real or the condition I was in.
