sorry you didn't get responses.. i have never heard of ixel but didn't do well on strattera although some people like it.. it made me even more depressed than I already am, gave me a headache, heartburn and made me throw up more than once.. blah ;( strattera aversion therapy!!!
It worked exactly opposite of how it was supposed to... I was tired and kind of foggy.. I would go into a store and just stand there not knowing what i was doing... so much for that drug.. sorry i can't help you with the other one

I have tried Reboxetine, similar to Strattera, and Ivex. Reboxetine, and I assume Strattera would too, made me much more depressed immediately, along with sexual organs that tightened up and shriveled up and urinary difficulties. Ivex was the first med in maybe a dozen where it actually felt good beginning as early as day 2. No worsening, which is unusual for me. But alas, as with anything with some norepinephrine action, in a few days I could hardly pee. That is not a common side effect, but one that does happen enough to be listed.
Ivex felt to me like it did something more than a simple norepinephrine/serotonin reuptake thing. It had more of a mood lift thing I would relate to Ritalin or marijuana or something. It felt like it somehow had a domaminergic thing going on, even though it supposedly doesn't.

Cold extremities (and superficial body parts) due to vasoconstriction (and therefore reduced circulation) resulting from noradrenergic stimulation (alpha1-adrenoceptors).

I'm taking Ixel now and my coldness has decreased quite a bit. Two years ago I bought a hot tub because I was so cold ALL THE TIME. I use it even in summer. When they told me I didn't have a thyroid problem, well, I just thought it was me getting old - I'm 42 now, so I would have been 40 then. I have since read that a little help with serotonin (like with Ixel or SSRi's) often helps with coldness - that was one of the many things I read that encouraged me to try it. Never took Strattera, though ....
