I am still struggling with meds. I really miss Abilify, but I just couldn't stand the hunger!
Isn't there anyway to combat the hunger that the anti-psychotic meds bring on?
Does taking chromium help? diet pills? an acid reducer like zantec?
It's hard when you find a med you like, but don't want to gain 50 lbs!

I'm gonna have to talk to my pdoc about this, too, from another drug. When we spoke about it last, he brought up Zelnorm -- apparently its actions at the 5HT4 receptors can fix the hunger/bowel motility issues that are brought on by serotinergic medications. Despite its dopaminergic effects, Abilify is also a 5HT1a agonist, which may be what's bringing on the hungries.
It might be worth talking to your doctor about it.

Let me know what your doctor says. My doctors just says to deal with it and stop eating! Not much help.

what is your diagnosis? dexedrine absolutely eradicates hunger for me... i have to smoke pot just to eat...

Isn't dexadrine a stimulant? Sounds like a diet pill. How is if different from phentermine?

i dont know a whole lot about phentermine but its not nearly as strong... dexadrine is dextroamphetamine, one of the most powerful... it is a schedule 2 controlled substance and i highly doubt that a doctor would prescribe it for weight loss... its for ADD and narcolepsy.. phentermine is a schedule 4
