I've been on almost everything now, and everything makes me worse or makes me cycle. My dr. has suggested trying Neurontin because it I have some agitation and it works in a differnt way than anything else I have tried. Other things I have tried to help my agitation have actually increased it.
I'm nervous because I've had so many bad experiences and have heard about some people where it made them much worse. But I'm at the end of my rope. Along with the agitation is the depression and craziness.
Experiences?

I can recomend nuerontion,with a few things to note.......
Be on some form of mood elevator,i.e anti depressant.
Then use it in high doses,its a drug that has a strong INITIAL effect but overall metabolizes poorly.
For severe mood it is not UNcommon to use doses around 4 grams split up through the day.
Works best with a benzo,mainly klonopin however xanax valium etc id imagine would do the same.
Note.
i personaly do NOT recomend this used alone as monothrepay.It can create a much worse mood,and really agravate depression hard on its own.My local area even showed commercials on its cause in sucideal ideation.
Im not trying to scare you,but in my opinion id avoid using this monotherapy.
Although im obviosuly partial,id recomend as Anti depressants with ....Parnate

unconventional stimulants,.....ritalin,dex,adderallA good coctail is a stimulative mood elevator with both nuerontion and a benzo.

Experiences of Neurontin differ drastically: 100 mg for some can be highly sedating; I was taking 2700 mg, which calmed me down but made me a little drunk. It's an anti-convulsive mood stabilizer that is good for anxiety, so doesn't need to be taken with anything else. I can't imagine taking a benzo with it. Those dealing with depression would need an anti-d. It's seen to be a very neutral, or clean, drug, regarding side effects.--Johann

my friend gave me 120 of the 800mg pills.... i havent tried any yet tho because im still adjusting some other stuff...

I tried Neurontin and it did zilch for me. I'm Bipolar. I was only taking it with low dosage Rivotril. I remained on the depressed side with a little hypomania. Perhaps I wasn't on a high enough dosage, I forget what I was on. I had more success with Lamictal, although I needed to add an AP to keep from getting too manic.

That fits with my experience. It can work well with anxiety alone, but is not a very potent mood stabilizer.
