problems with the pharmacy

Posted by llrrrpp on August 17, 2006, at 21:58:20

Have you guys ever had problems with the pharmacy? I was just trying to order a phone refill. I gave him my info, and he said there are no more refills on that prescription. (ummm? excuse me? unlimited refills? I'm staring at the bottle right now? can you look up my info again?)

pharmacist getting really saccharine sweet, talking down to me, trying to get me to calm down, asking me if he can contact my doctor to find out what the error is.

I guess he might be wise to the fact that a disgruntled customer is not able to get her prescription for antipsychotics and antidepressants filled. Oooooh!!! I wonder if he was scared of me!!?? WTF. Now I have to do all this extra running around, to get my prescription sorted out, possibly to change pharmacies, since this one is INCOMPETENT.

And his condescending phone voice lingers in my head, making me wish that I had had the opportunity to talk to this guy in person. Ooooh- crazy lady with her dilated pupils is getting agitated!! Call the authorities. WTF.

Okay. enough ranting. well, almost.
I'm going to drink a lot of coffee before I go there in person tomorrow am. It's going to be a good time.

When I get to the pharmacist's counter, I will buy 47 cans of RedBull,
a box of marshmallow peeps,
a hotrod car magazine,
a bakers dozen each of:
dental floss,
vanilla scented candles,
sterile wound dressing,
cat treats,
and a greeting card "Dearest Granddaughter, Happy Birthday"
...and a partridge in a pear tree...

Anyone wanna come with me? Solidarity with the psycho chick?

a bientot,
-ll

Lurpsie I don't want to get you angry. Where I am they won't give refills just 30days worth unless it's for needymeds. Maybe that's just the pdoc's Ive had but yes let him call your doc tonight and get your refills. Love Phillipa

Well, I have recovered from my rage by playing on babblechat with nice people.

I will communicate with pharmacy and pdoc in person tommorrow, to get this thing straightened out. It should not be a problem. Has never been a problem in the past.

grrrrrr....

g'nite >:o/

Only one copy of HotRodder's Mag? Do they sell Soldier of Fortune? Because my subscription has run out, and I need the August issue...

(Just trying to help).

Well, I'll see you tomorrow at the pharmacy, Jost, and you can see what you've been missing by only subscribing to a few publications.

You see the latest issue of Muscle Cars and Bikini Chicks? It nearly won the Pulitzer prize a year ago.

Fine journalism. Truly.

Sorry. that was sarcasm. I'm getting off now. Getting a little too frisky. I don't want to be sanctioned.

yours,

This am, I woke up at rediculously early hour, to go to pharmacy, and also because co-worker had an emergency.

I go to pharmacy, show the pharmacist (pharmA) my bottles, he types in some numbers, writes something down, and says-- sure, these can be refilled. I will just have to call the pharmacy that filled them last time (when I was on vacation) and get the prescription transferred.

I explained that I had tried to do this last night on the phone, and he said, "well, this thing may be difficult to do over the phone, but I'll have these ready by early this afternoon"

Yay!!!

**********************

I go there at about 4 this afternoon, having left work early. I just missed the bus, so I walked a mile in the rain (don't worry, I had my umbrella).
I go to the counter, spell my name, and the lady cannot find it. Now pharmacist B (pharmB) asks me about the man I spoke with this am. I give PharmB my bottles, and he apologizes that they're not ready yet. In fact, he cannot find any initial evidence that PharmB did any work to fill the scripts this am. GRRRR! I explain to PharmB that I'm going on a trip for 10 days, and I'm leaving tomorrow -- don't worry Phillipa, I'm just going to my 'vacation home' I'll still be on the internet!-- and I NEED my scripts ASAP.

I explain calmly and patiently that I need them refilled soon, because I'm on my way home. PharmB says- 10 minutes.

I lollygag around the store. la-di-dah. And the line of waiting customers gets longer and longer. PharmB is deep in concentration, calls over a few coworkers, who shrug.

20 minutes later, PharmB says that PharmA has screwed up my records. He is apologetic, and says that because of some computer glitch, I cannot get a refill on my Seroquel. I'm getting a fierce glint in my eyes at this point... I protest- but this am, PharmA said no problem. I'm going out of town? What's the problem? If you had told me this am, perhaps I could have contacted my doctor...

PharmB says, I know you're going out of town. How long are you gone for? 10 days. PharmB explained that he was going to give me a 2 week supply for free. And that when I came back, there would be ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM getting my scripts refilled. Something about the tone of his voice is telling me that PharmA is going to get in a lot of trouble about this.

Well. I got 14 free seroquel tablets. For my 30 minutes of waiting, 20 minutes of walking. etc.

I think I'm going to take one right now, in fact. The day's been too long already. I'm going to let it end in 37 minutes.

Ciao. Thanks for listening.

Phillipa, I guess I just know you too well!
Everytime I go away (which is WAAAAAY too often, lately) you always say something that sounds like you're going to miss me. Well, I miss you too!

I think I might switch to Walgreens- this is too much hassle.
