The sedation and weight on Seroquel is quite annoying!
But Seroquel is a great drug!
Even so, I am changing to either
a) Risperidone 1mg mane (I'm more inclined towards this ultra
powerful med at the moment)b) Abilify 10mg mane
Any comments, my dear friends?

I have taken both and on abilify now; I like abilify much better, there is no weight gain and you have more energy.

I take 15mg at bedtime, helps me with sleep.

No way to tell which would work better for you, other than making some general predictions based on expected side effect profiles, for example abilify being somewhat stimulating for most people.
One thing to consider is the sexual side effects. Risperdal is a notorious offender in that department, having a lot to do with it raising prolactin levels significantly.

Id avoid Risperdal...as the atypicals go, its pretty rough. Abilify at low-doses is pretty tolerable (except for people who get that god-awful start up anxiety) and has surprisingly few side effects for an antipsychotic. But..then again..Risperdal is an older med, so there's more data on it. Abilify is exciting in part b/c its still so new. Still...I'd go with Abilify, starting at 5mgs or less and then titrating upwards; unless you're floridly psychotic, I'd max out at 10mgs/day or less.
