Hello,
I take Wellbutrin XL 300mg one pill in the morning. I am finding that it does not last through the evening, which is a concern of mine.
Does anyone seem to have this problem, and is it possible to take a 150 or 300 in the evening as well as the morning, being that these are time-released?

Years ago I used to take the SR version and found that to be more predictable, I think people usually take that twice a day.

I've had quite the opposite experience with SR version. Yesterday initiated my Wellbutrin trial. I took 100mg Wellbutrin SR in the morning. It kicked in at about 8pm in the evening. I could not fall asleep till 4am. Depression (atypical anxious type), which got pretty bad in recent days (I was browsing alt.suicide.methods) seems like totally gone. I feel pretty wired. I've increased my Klonopin, which I take take for GAD and Social Phobia, from 0.5mgs twice a day to 0.5mgs three times daily to help with sleep. Spoke with my pdoc; he was surprised at how fast I responded. I'll follow up with updates.

Hi,
It's funny but I did a Wellbutrin SR (actually bupropion SR 100mg) experiment two days ago and had a similar result. I took it about 1:30 PM and didn't feel much the rest of the day except some mild sympathetic activity like piloerection (hair standing on end). I only got a couple of hours of sleep that night, but I haven't been sleeping well since I started lamictal about six weeks ago. Anyway I was tired and cranky when I got out of bed in the morning but as the morning progressed I could feel something was different. I ended up having the best day I've had in quite a while. Like a cloud had lifted. I must be a slow metabolizer. I'm going to try taking it every other day and see what happens. A couple of months ago I took it every day for a couple of weeks but after the first day it was knocking me out. Not this time. If I can take it every other day and figure out a way to get some sleep I might be onto something. Keep me posted...
