Yes
I do take Pregabalin for Social Anxiety, in devided dose of up to 600mg.

My feelings about this med are very mixed

I have tried Diazepam (which didn't work for SP) and Clonazepam which made me depressed.
I preffer Pregabalin to both these meds, it does not cause cognitive dulling or depression, infact it makes me rather euphoric.

The problem is that tolerance develops very quickly, within about three days for me.
Effectivness does return if I give myself a drug holiday, but it means that I can only use the drug for about three days a week.
Raising the dose does not help with this tolerance.
Needless to say this is not ideal

To conclude I think that Pregabalin might be effective as an add on treatment for SA, but should not be the mainstay.

Its also very expensive

Hi!

But it did help for you in sp (at least). In my homeland the pregabalin is not yet available. I could import the pregabalin from the UK but it is, as you said, very expensive and is not covered by insurance (the same with bupropion). Of course there will be a very cheap Indian generic supplier in the near future. But I am very sceptical if it is worth a try. Did you have any sexual side effects with the pregabalin?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Since many things work "from time to time", not on constant basis - maybe we should use such schedule: monday Lyrica, tuesday Tramadol, wednesday Xanax, thursday some opiate like Oxycodone/Hydrocodone, friday Lyrica etc etc etc
what do you think?:)

i would rather like to stay on one drug. i have read in forums that pregabaline poops out fastly.

The drug company has problems to receive the permission from the fda to market it as an "anxiolytic" agent.

I dont think that different-day different-med regime is a bad idea, actually i think it would be good idea to avoid tolerance.

Yes you are right, i does not depend on convenience if you treat a disorder.
Only with ssris you would have a problem switching drugs. But i dont like them anyway.
