Hi,
I recently felt great on 200 mg of lamictal... however, i kept increasing the dose thinking i would continously feel better... But at 300 mg I began to have ruminating thoughts.. then at 400 mg, I have ruminating thoughts and feel very activated... I was wondering if people have lowered dose and reachieved all the benefits of the 200 mg dose?I'm all worried it wont work anymore, Ive heard all sorts of people complain that it poops out...

I'm having the same problem. I'm currently at 150mg but felt better at 100mg and my pdoc keeps pushing me to go higher like she knows how I should be feeling better than me. My girlfriend even told me I'm zoned out and seem agitated quite a bit lately.
Docs are funny, they follow trends like everyone else. All the sudden, mood stabilizers are the "best" right now so that's what they send you out the door with.
Don't get me wrong, they are great for some people but just aren't right for others.
I'm willing to try 200mg but if I feel good for a few days then crash again, I may bail on the Lamictal.
Looking back, Keppra worked better for me. Clear mind and numbed my anxiety much better. The only reason I stopped it is because you have to take it 3 times a day because the 1/2 life is 6-8 hours. The prescribing info says twice a day but in reality should be taken 3 times daily to be smooth. I may go back to it though.

my 2 cents. my pdoc wants to keep me at 100mg. I guess its just to augment my prozac. But i was taking 100mg w/ paxil and felt like it wasnt really doing anything and stopped taking it. Boy, did i make a mistake. It has taken me 2 months to feel better and now i am titalating back up with the lamictal. I think it works better than we think as long as your at the right dose...

You said you're staying at 100mg, then said you are titrating up??? Does the Prozac work good with the 100mg Lamictal? Why didn't the Paxil?

I had stopped taking lamictal back in june, and then i was just taking paxil and i hated it. I was a zombie who swore alot..:) weird...So, I saw my pdoc 3 wks ago, she put me on prozac and back on lamictal. So, now I am at 50mg and then in 2 wks will be back to 100mg. It seems to be working alright with the prozac. I feel better (not great) since i am off paxil and on prozac.
