reduce LAMICTAL dose, reduce ruminating

Hi,
I recently felt great on 200 mg of lamictal... however, i kept increasing the dose thinking i would continously feel better... But at 300 mg I began to have ruminating thoughts.. then at 400 mg, I have ruminating thoughts and feel very activated... I was wondering if people have lowered dose and reachieved all the benefits of the 200 mg dose?
I'm all worried it wont work anymore, Ive heard all sorts of people complain that it poops out...
