Provigil withdrawl

Will Didrex (diet pill) tapering ease Provigil withdrawl? Thanks. I know they're both dopamenergic.

Provigil literature claims it is NOT dopameneric (hence, not like amphetamines) but more noradernergic. Literature also claims there is no tolerance and withdrawl.

You are freightening me! I take it and it helps for cognitive function, mood and drive. There is no high and almost no subjective effect. Are you sure about your info?

Yes I am a health-care professional and took it as prescribed, and it is somewhat dopamenergic and if you read the PDR can cause euphoria.

No Didrex !!!!!!!!!!!

Didrex is speed, pure and simple. It's the most closely related of the common diet pills to amphetamine. Taking Didrex to get off Provigil is like using a nuke to kill an ant. You will have a ten fold bigger problem getting of the damn Didrex than you had with Provigil. It is precisely the wrong thing to do. Do a search on "dopamenergics". You will find you don't have a lot of appealing options. If you want to buy a drug that makes Provigil look really rock bottom dirt cheap, try apomorphine. Or just touggh it out...probably a week at most with the first three days being toughest. I just went off 400mg/day of Provigil (ran out of money - damn!)with no depressive side-effects at all. Nothing. I lost the benefits (that included antidepressiant action but nothing akin to euphoria). There is another user in this thread with a different opinion and experience. Everyone reacts differently to a drug. I'll bet it's easier for you than getting off coffee. Best wishes!

Okay, everyone reacts differently to a drug. I had a very mild euphoria for about two days and then just ongoing benefits. I just came off 400mg/day with no distress whatsoever. (I should let you know I take Paxil and Remaron). You could try bromctipton, yohimbe or carboline. See
http://bnf.org/bnf/bnf/current/doc/41001i554.htm for a list of dopamenergics. Memantine is relatively affordable. You'll have to check the half-life, sirim levels, efficacies an doses. Anyway, as a pro, you know that Didrex is a sympathomimetic which is so close to amphetamine that the difference hardly matters. And Didrex is the most speed-like of all diet pills. That's a step backward.

And while we're at it...I just tried Penterdiazipine tapering to get off Ritalin. I should have just tapered the Ritalin. It was a stupip idea without efficacy.
