I am on 75mgs and have no loss of appetite and have lost no weight. I know it does not always work but I was just wondreing what point it usually does if at all. Also does the lethargic feeling ever go away?

My weight loss began when I started taking 200 mgs. I am currently taking 300 mgs. The lethargic feeling didn't begin with me until I started at 300 mgs. Hoping it will go away soon! But, I take it for Bipolar disorder, and have not been more stalble in my life! Hopefully things will stay this way! Here's wishing you well! Karen

When I got up to 200mg of Topamax, I realized I lost 25 pounds. It was about 2 months when I noticed this change after being on Topamax.
I didn't really feel lethargic on Topamax.

FYI on my history: I am taking effexor-xr 225 for depression -- been gaining weight from it.Neurologist started me on topamax for migraine prevention. Regimine:
25mg for 7days, 50mg for 7days, 75mg for 7days, 100mgs then on.
Today was my first 100mg dose.
About the 4th day (so 4th 25mg pill) my appetite started to decline. Weight fluxuated +/- 5 pounds across first two weeks on meds. (around 220lbs, I am 5'10")
Now... from 9/29 to today, I have dropped 18lbs. I have to actually remind myself to eat! I have no desire for sweets. I am perfectly happy eating 2 eggos for breakfast, an apple at 2pm, and a sandwich for dinner.
From my online reading, topamax does not cause weight loss or loss of appetite in everyone.
This is just me. Hope it helps a little!
