Honestly, I can't tell right now if Lexapro (10 mg) is helping me or not. I've given it nearly 8 weeks now and it helped for about a week or two and then pooped out.
Lex has also given me weird periods of gloom and doom with fits of anger. If I were to increase the dosage would this get worse? Is there something that I may be able to take along with the Lex to help control these fits? (I've already tried Effexor and Prozac with no luck.)
I don't plan on marching into my doctor's office demanding drug a or drug b but I would like to be informed of my options prior to my visit.

I'm in a similar situtation. After being on lex 5 weeks, i feel like i did before i started taking it (as as anxiety, and insomnia) except im more tired all the time. the first 2 weeks i felt alot of improvement then gradually it vanished. plus headaches, irritablility, and an innappriate (and embarrasing) outburst at the store...so after reading posts here and another forum, ive been trying to reach my pdoc to increase my dosage (from 10 to 20?) if he thinks its a good idea. ive been unsure but i figure now that it can't hurt...but it feels about pointless to be taking anything, how i feel now

FWIW, I started to experience quite a slump at about 4 weeks on the 10mg of Lexapro. I had had some side-effects so rather than bumping me straight up to 20mg I was bumped up to 15mg for about 2 weeks and then up to 20mg.
I am now coming up on 8 weeks and seem to be away from the side-effects and am reasonably happy with the results. (Would definitely recommend the slower titration up if you had a lot of side-effects in the beginning).Michael
