I was thinking of trying a product called SAM-e and was wondering if anybody out there has any experience or has heard of it?

Hi,
There have been several threads about SAM-e here-- you might try using the search function to find them. From what I recall, people have gotten some benefit but I have not heard of big success stories. It's also fairly expensive and despite the claims, it can have troublesome side effects (I got nausea from it and my friend got bad headaches). Just be skeptical about the claims that it's a wonder drug with no side effects.

There is a new SSRI called Lexapro. It works really well for me and lots of people. Have you tried that one? How about Effexor? That is a very effective antidepressant which is not an SSRI.

SAM-e is very expensive and insurance does not cover it. I have seen some people who report benefits but not that many.
