A little background: I take .5mg clonazepam and 10 mg celexa at night. Starting about 4 am during my sleep I start holding my aching head. My arms get so tired and achey, I wake up briefly to cover back up and this goes on until I finally get up. Sometimes my head is hurting real bad and sometimes I am having nightmares.
I have thought about tying my arms down! It usually starts when I am having headaches but then goes on as if I have developed a habit. Is this some sort of restless arms syndrome?
I have tried taking the celexa in the a.m. and no difference. I end up feeling achey and tired. I know this sounds like an insignificant problem but the poor sleep is affecting my daytime functioning.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jane, I have had similar troubles with SSRI's, but in my case it *is* my legs that get very restless. It was the worst with Zoloft, and somewhat bad with Prozac. Celexa didn't bother me that much. The "achey" feeling could be SSRI-induced pain. Effexor makes my neck and upper back stiff and achey. Zoloft would cause lower-back pain, etc. Klonopin usually helps that quite a bit and you are already taking that. Have you tried adding an anti-serotonin med at bedtime with it such as Buspar or Periactin (cyproheptadine)? I think Vistaril (hydroxyzine), might help, too.
This is the end of the thread.
